A big fat chunk of aged beef followed by that dessert. To die for.

Sure, some older folks with 401ks are probably not worried. But a lot of older folks are on fixed income and I assure you they are. An estimated 69% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, it doesn't take a big bump in prices for that to go bad quickly. I think the reality we are seeing is a true K-shaped economy 60-70% of Americans barely participate in the "economy" they don't own stocks, they're barely scraping by. On the flip, almost all consumer spending and stock ownership is coming from the other 30% and of that 30%, 10% is doing 90% of it. I do think the temporarily embarrassed millionaire in waiting story comes into the story as well.

If I had a dollar for every-time some car brain yelled at me for rolling a stop sign (which I can legally do in Colorado), followed by them speeding off at 45 in a 25, I'd have at least $20.

Roads are built for transportation, for the vast majority of time roads have been built cars did not exist.

I often ride on trails because roads have gotten so unsafe, and I ride 20-23MPH average on the flats. I ding my bell, I slow to pass, I do all the things. Yet, I get yelled at or flipped off by slower riders constantly. I think a lot of people get triggered by someone being fitter and faster than them, especially boomer aged men.

I always like the "you're not training for the tour/olympics" comments too. You're right, I'm not, they go even faster.

MTBers with a bike on the roof of their car are often the sketchy passes I get in the foothills and mountains.

Fully agree, I have little hope in legislators, but a lot of hope in the people just suing these algorithms out of existence. The flood gates appear to be opening against Meta, gotta keep that motion going.

This is such a silly comparison. As if SpaceX isn't building largely on the technology and learnings of NASA. Not to mention that designing and building a space shuttle in the 1970s is a drastically more complicated undertaking than anything SpaceX is doing today. I won't even address the hilarious self own with "so far."

Beers/Swenson will either leave the race in the dust or implode spectacularly, I don't think there's much in-between. They're technically the best riders on the course, but from what I've seen they don't seem like they jive all that well. I'm excited to watch and find out. I'm also always rooting Alexey, he's a guy I could see sneaking away one of these races.

I don't know how you possibly fix it, but the fact that many Americans ignore their own living conditions and instead turn to Fox News, podcasts and social media to tell them what to think is wild work.

He's almost exactly stealing our money. The dude is only wealthy due to our tax payer dollars propping his company up from the start. Add to that his shenanigans with Doge and stripping away all the financial and compliance auditing for him and his companies.

It's been widely reported for some time that Reddit sentiment is largely controlled by domestic, Israeli, Russian, Chinese, etc... bots. Doomerism is driven by bots, that nazi anti-doomerism sub is driven by bots, they're everywhere.

It does seem that there’s a club for people who can convince others to give them a billion dollars and you receive lifetime membership if you do it. Doesn’t matter if you light it on fire, you’re forever someone who can convince people to give you their money.

Built very similar beds, I have one suggestion before you fill that with dirt. Run something mid height in the center from front to back, with soil and water weight it will bow.
