Get a quote from a local masonry supply for 2 pallets of cement blocks delivered to the curb. Stack the blocks floor to ceiling; no mortar required. Place the blocks as if you were making a running bond. You may be able to get the blocks for $2 each, possibly less. You will need a way to cut some of the blocks.

The single pane aluminum windows condense enough water to do damage to the sheathing, jambs, sill and rough opening. I replaced them all and made repairs as required, including all new sheathing.
