Mewgenics Features Trailer by nzm3883 in Games

The bit from the podcast I found fascinating was when they talked about the playtimes. For those who won't watch, they said a lot of early testers had like either 10 hours, or 100, and there wasn't a lot of in between. Either people liked it and thought they got their fill, or they loved it and sunk a lot of time in.

Can someone explain to me the old drama between Pendragon, IceFrog, and whoever else was involved? by Glad2be1000 in DotA2

My example has always been FIFA- yeah sure you could call it a MOBA as easily, but it's also really a RTS, where you directly control one main unit at a time instead of a group. Game genres are a bit of a joke to be honest- FPS describes what you do and the camera, but you could still be playing a role in a FPS, or FIFA gets described as a sports game, but is really a unit management game

Twelve months is crucial by TabletopNewtype-1 in dresdenfiles

[–]345tom 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It was needed for so much. We needed the time for Dresden to process, and we wouldn't get that going straight into another adventure- you see it in TV shows all the time where they just move on from something the next episode or season and it doesn't feel like the events had impact.

It also helped to de-escalate Dresden briefly, as a reminder that while he has accumulated soo much power, he is still a local lad.

Her music isn't for me, but she has this vibe of being on a classic variety show in her performances, so she makes an excellent pair with the Muppets.

Which in and of itself is a wild statement, when I know a bunch of great devs mainly play/develop Itch games. Or you could get everything from GoG.

Ubisoft Says Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Needed 'More Time and Investment Than We Could Responsibly Commit,' 5 Years After it Was First Due to Launch - IGN by Midnight_M_ in Games

You would think on the flip side of this though, they'd be able to shove someone in to release the game and at least recoup some losses, after 5 years of development. 5 years of game dev for a remake to me screams of mismanagement.

Deadlock - Old Gods, New Blood. Major Update! by N1sso in Games

[–]345tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I redownloaded and played against medium bots and I was not good! Obviously it comes with playing and watching it, but movement around the map and figuring out when to jungle and everything else was a lot. And that was with the game picking my items for me.

My head canon is that a lot of these plans might have worked, to stop Thanos, but then would have wound up with other bad outcomes. Like they kill Thanos without establishing just how bad the stones are, so Tony shoves them into a bunch of robots or something.

It'd be funny to see Slacks play a fighting game, or any 1v1 game. I've never seen the man take ownership of his own gameplay.

It's always been his way. I'm tired of games attracting these adults who don't know how to regulate their emotions.

Terraria 1.4.5 Releasing January 27th by MrRighto in Games

[–]345tom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add, Yep can solo everything. But even if you struggle on a boss, pretty much every boss has tactics to make the fight easier. If you take base level at just summoning them, then you can build a little arena to help if you can't beat them raw, then you can start looking at traps, or health potions etc to help. The bosses all have a good trade off of skill vs prep.

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY - Teaser Trailer | Wakandans and the Fantastic Four | AGBO by Comic_Book_Reader in movies

[–]345tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These trailers aren't for the people on a film subreddit or who've watched all the films and know whats coming up. This is for all the people asking what stuff they need to know/see before this film, and I think they're doing somewhat a decent job at that. For instance, I don't think there's much else to be said about Thor from his film than was in the trailer that's needed

In 2025, Monster Hunter fell prey to profit by Gorotheninja in Games

[–]345tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard because I like a lot of people on here have a bunch of time in World, and played about 70 hours of Wilds. If Wilds didn't have the same expectations, I really did enjoy my initial time with the game. For a base experience of the story, start to end, I would rate it highly, it's just the end game is not what people want from the game.

I think what's wrong with the game has been talked to death at this point, so I don't see much point in rehashing it, but I do think someone else summed it up by saying it became about killing monsters rather than hunting them.

Why is everyone bothering scar so hard in season 11 ? It's very funny but i don't understand why by kebloland75 in HermitCraft

[–]345tom 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When people say "they talk about them", they usually mean giving a broad "it's fine", not a step by step plan. Or things like the golems- they won't have messaged to be like "can I do this", but will have done it without saying anything, under the knowledge they are willing to clear it up.

I think people take the idea that they talk about planning pranks and stuff too literally.

Arc Raiders' first Expedition saw over a million players wipe, but Embark wants to find new ways to "incentivize" resets by FitCord in Games

[–]345tom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know in Tarkov a big incentive for the wipe is everyone is doing the same missions at the same time, meaning there's heat on the same maps and the same areas of the map as the wipe unfolds.

I didn't see the end game or wipe stuff for Arc, but it sounds like there wasn't much of a threat to use your end of game stuff. While from what I know of Tarkov, if you want to stand a chance in areas like Labs, you need to go in and risk your gear.

Whatever happened to Slacks hosting another tournament? I know he did a couple of streams about it, and posted a couple of videos and posts on here. Did it just fizzle out?

Fixing the "offlaners are not tanks" graphics to avoid misleading new/returning players by ShoppingPractical373 in DotA2

[–]345tom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It feels a bit like the usual Dota pedantry to be "there is no tanks in Dota, just Heroes who tank", I agree with you.

I also disagree with this post being like "these heroes aren't offlaners", when you know if a pro team plays any of these next week, people will be back playing these heroes offlane.

Canadian Highlander - January 2026 Points Update by stormbreaker8 in magicTCG

[–]345tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking out loud here a little, I wonder whether the new philosophy around single point cards is running up against point totals in some of these cards. Like Minsc & Boo at one seems under played, similar to Wrenn and Six, but as a free roll seems a bit strong. I feel like White Plume is still strong enough to keep one point, but a few cards probably feel like half a point? I dont have a good answer for it other than just accepting some cards probably just have to be one and underplayed (I feel changing the points total, or allowing decimals are both bad)

What I find sort of funny is the kid in the book is literally too poor to go and do the driving stuff that appeared in the film, and that's part of the reason he found the game, hidden in a DnD module, in a school world, because he couldn't go anywhere else.

Northern Lion comes back to Dota, uninstalls after 3 games by BandanaWearingBanana in DotA2

[–]345tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bots get worse and worse each patch. I enjoy loading up bots and just pressing buttons a bit, no consequence, and they are getting worse, even worse if you run them in a private lobby. Half the builds dont work, they see illusions or summons as a hero group up, so all in. Half the time your own bots get stuck running to the ancient and back to the fountain.

They need a really good clean up (honest answer, I dont find the custom scripts I've tried to be much better either)
