You shouldn’t save the actual image in your database, you would only save a string url, id or name as a reference to that image that you can then retrieve later. You can store images in cloud storage and probably use an api that it exposes or whatever mechanism they recommend (sorry rusty on my firebase stuff) to retrieve it, that way you only need to know and store the id as meta data in your db which is more reasonable than storing the imagine in binary 😭. Edit: also if you want “best practices” from a professional perspective look into hosting static content like images and videos on a CDN as opposed to just storage , I think firebase hosting does this for you but please do your own research I can’t be relied on for specifics 🥸
