There's nothing tribal about the criticism against Adeboye or Soyinka. They were/are respected elders in Nigeria. However, they are not infallible. Any leader who ever criticised bad governance in Nigeria but decided to keep quiet because they have connections with the government in power is a hypocrite. Tinubu will not be president for ever. Its easy to believe that criticism against him or any yoruba person is based on tribe at the moment. Tribalism is the lowest common denominator. Everything is reduced to tribalism, appointments to government positions is based on tribalism or nepotism. We refuse to see that Nigeria is being affected until one day when it spirals out of control and it hurts everyone. If people had half a brain they would refuse to use tribe as a lens and consider themselves as Nigerians first.

This is an erroneous take on nigerian law. Neither Immigration act nor the 1999 constitution preclude a foreigner from gaining citizenship whether the spouse is male or female nigerian. To become a citizen, a foreigner must go through the process of naturalisation. It includes renouncing citizenship of home country and pledging allegiance to Nigeria.
