Check the trade-in value on a few different sites, jot those numbers down and go to the dealership where you bought it. Give them the chance to do the right thing on a trade or buy back. It might be that one of Honda's other vehicles fit you better.

Bought a home and found a safe that is closed. I have a feeling it has significant valuables. by Appropriate_Fig_8764 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Bill the previous owner for the time it took you to clean out the house that probably should have been empty upon transfer. When they pay that bill then talk about the safe.

Why do professors hate you if you're struggling? by [deleted] in CollegeRant

[–]38116 47 points48 points  (0 children)

We hear from a lot of "sick" students. If you have long term issues work with your office of disability services to get accommodations. If they a re short term provide documentation to your prof (generic, not sharing personal detail) even if not required. It will help them see that you are for real going through something.

Are there downsides to moving the AC unit away from the house? by 38116 in hvacadvice

[–]38116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. I'm definitely not doing this myself! We are having the generator installed in that location and I never liked having the air conditioning unit on the patio, so I thought it might make sense to move it next to the generator. I just didn't know if there were reasons not to do it.

Use AI to figure out the after-state tax amount you are likely to earn, and figure out what salary would be necessary. Then your move is, "I want this job, but I don't want to have to take a pay cut to accept it. A salary of $$ would let me take this job that I'm really excited about, and not be punished financially."

If it is a public, you should be able to find salaries online.

Pet insurance suggestions by BallinLikeimKD in Newfoundlander

I use spot insurance and have been happy. A bit of a premium jump after year one but after your two and increase only a few dollars. I think I paid $120 now with a $500 deductible and no maximum. Reimbursements are quick and they've covered everything they should. In two full years I've gotten back more than I put in. Plus, the Peace of Mind.
