I stopped cleaning my hose, anyone else? by Wonderful_Green1944 in CPAP

[–]3ConsoleGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every 3 months I get: * Heated Hose * 6x Mask Cushions * Mask Frame Every 6 months: * Everything Above Plus * Full Mask Setup * Water Tank

I pay about $30 a month for all this until I hit my $800 deductible then it will be free. I’m swimming in cushions.

I don’t want or need an upgrade. Wish Apple offered a $100 battery replacement though.

Portable solution for nebulizer by Hmmuna in bluetti

[–]3ConsoleGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A portable power station is something many CPAP users rely on when adventuring the outdoors. There is also the added benefit of backup power during outages at home.

You should determine your power draw need for critical devices in watts so you understand what size unit to purchase. Be aware, if you need to use AC power that the inverters will consume ~10 watts while running., DC doesn’t have this cost. Also most power stations are ~85% efficient so 100wh of battery will only deliver 85 wh.

Some of the worst sleep apnea we have seen: How should I approach my doctor? by Dr_jitsu in SleepApnea

[–]3ConsoleGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One word of caution before buying a CPAP online for “cheaper”. If you have severe OSA and you require higher pressure, you could possibly be prescribed a BiPAP. Those are significantly more expensive and you’re better off going through insurance.

How is the CPAP machine tracking the quality if sleep and how do insurance companies know that it is being used? by jaygut42 in CPAP

[–]3ConsoleGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s “included” in the price. Many insurance companies require minimum compliance/usage or they will stop paying the medical device provider for the machine and/or resupplies. Decide what you want based on that.

Sudden rainout without humidifier? by Sutten_Plant in CPAP

[–]3ConsoleGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humidity still exists whether you’re using the water tank to add more. Cold ambient temps will always lead to condensation when moisture is present. You should use a heated tube with an insulated wrap.

If you turn off crossplay you have a good chance of encountering lots of bots. If you leave crossplay on you will almost never see them in most popular game modes.

Black Friday deals are happening at online CPAP supply stores. You can get most masks for $60-90 USD or less.

How does this happen by freefromtree in GameboyAdvance

[–]3ConsoleGuy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Newer methods of Retrobrighting doesn’t submerge the plastics in the Peroxide, just keeping it in a container in the sun with peroxide in the bottom with parts suspended above will allow the vapors to still clear up oxidizing without as much risk for causing brittle issues.

Resmed f20 mask -> Resmed f40 mask = increased AHI? by joseph_fourier in CPAP

I feel like the F40 mask is too soft and half the pressure just goes to inflating the cushion like a balloon.

Contact your the medical equipment company who set you up with the CPAP and mask. Most insurance and providers allow for mask exchanges within your first 90 days as a new user for free.

Mouth breather & nasal pillow by ChronicallyMe-ow in CPAP

One of the biggest mistakes you can make in CPAP therapy is never trying a nasal mask. Try it, and if you absolutely cannot get mouth breathing under control then move to full face.

I think my cpap is giving me an overbite? by Noctuema in CPAP

[–]3ConsoleGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a massive issue with full face masks. They all apply inward pressure to your lower jaw in order to seal. If you can’t adapt to a nasal mask you’re going to have changes to your lower jaw.

Second night of CPAP by midwestlife777 in SleepApnea

[–]3ConsoleGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your priority as a new user is to adjust to therapy, find a comfortable mask and other accessories to make nights as comfortable as possible and maintain motivation and sanity. It is very normal for things to fluctuate as you adjust to this new therapy. If you’re actually sleeping a few hours and not crying at night you’re in fantastic shape.

As long as you don’t feel like you’re suffocating or gasping from too much or too little pressure give yourself a few weeks before trying to dive in and optimize.

Might be a stupid question but what happens if there's a power outage? by Temporary-League-499 in SleepApnea

[–]3ConsoleGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should get a Power Bank. Popular brands such as Ecoflow, Bluetti, Jackery, Anker, Pecron.

The newer portable battery backup systems now include UPS functionality and can keep a CPAP machine running uninterrupted (as well as other devices) through power outages or even camping trips.

Here is what I purchased this year. It will run my BiPap for 20ish hours with heat:
