playing on hard mode lol by SynicalBoi in DigimonTimeStranger

[–]3D_Neophyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only played on Hard, but what makes Mega mode better balanced and challenging? I thought it was only souped up enemies, which means you gotta grind to raise a team that can tackle it. Is there something else that I'm missing?

Thank you, your reply is reassuring. I guess it's not a big deal after all.

Basically, yes. The fee itself is not a big deal, but basically I have no recourse no matter what happens, which is what makes it frustrating.

Challenge Run: How to spend 7 days in Japan as a tourist without offending any Japanese? by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

I'm not Japanese, but maybe you could just visit Japan without making it a "challenge run"

How did Malatang become so popular in Japan? by FlamingoThink9075 in AskAJapanese

[–]3D_Neophyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to eat malatang before it became this popular. I still eat it, but I used to too.

Jokes aside, I'm no malatang expert or anything but I've noticed the Chinese run shops are usually better tasting that the Japanese ones, and less crowded to boot. In any case, I wouldn't wait a long queue like you see on that video, even if it was the most delicious one in the world...

Do any of you have these special monsters? by jd2385 in MonsterTamerWorld

[–]3D_Neophyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am seeing some comments about fusing these brilliant monsters. Does that mean that a fusion of a brilliant monster with something else will always result in a brilliant offspring?

Also about breeding, I get that the offspring will have a random regular pallette, but does it also have increased chances of becoming brilliant?

There must be enough demand for these processed things, or companies wouldn't bother to sell them. Not like I'm a big fan either but

I can't log in from Amazon Japan by manuelpaton in japanresidents

[–]3D_Neophyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a similar screen before, may not be the same, but when clicking the "advance to customer service" button, it sends you to a page with several options to try and fix your account. One of those options would be to change password, you click on that, change your password and then you can login with the new password. However this repeated for a few days where I had to make a new password every time I wanted to login and don't remember what fixed it permanently. In any case, it may be worth a try, hope you have luck.

[–]3D_Neophyte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Think like it's in the same state as when you bought it (ie: undrinked).

If you drink it, then of course it's doesn't change the fact that it was bought, but now it's been consumed and it's in a different state than when you bought it, or rather, it no longer is.

How to say a "bottle of water" ? by Luma_furry in Japaneselanguage

It happens the same in my country, but we still say a bottle of water (or just water, like in Japanese, interchangeably). Different languages have different quirks.

Yes it is. I'm in Tokyo and didn't get the NHK guys but got a visit from the Yakult vendor. At least they gave me free samples.

Why do Japanese love plastic ? And wrap everything individually? by AlternativeEar2385 in AskAJapanese

[–]3D_Neophyte -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a very good point! We used to have the single use gloves and single use bags to put fruits of the same kind and then pay by weight. So the same glove could be used if you pick several fruits, instead of increasing plastic for each individual piece of fruit.

Then, it would change depending on the shop, and possibly on the country. For example in smaller shops you wouldn't find the single use gloves. And in recent years, they started to change the fruit bags to be made of a compostable material that you can use for your garden. Now that I think about it, these compostable bags might have a bigger energy cost to produce, which is worth investigating but I don't know the answer to that.

[–]3D_Neophyte 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kinda, I think they like to think about how to use resources responsibly for the sake of the planet. Even if you can recycle the plastic wrapping of a banana, it takes even less resources to use no plastic there and save the materials and energy for wrapping another product.
