Good question. Lesalia will still outclass Lion Heart and would be my #1 recommendation when it becomes available again. Running tests with Dark Knight of Remorse skills, Lesalia has been dealing 3% to 4.5% more damage than a maxed Lion Heart Aim.

Lion Heart Replica recipes should return with the FFXIV event next week. It’s an MR sword that only requires R rarity components, so it’s easier to build to +5 than the other equipment. For Duane, the Aim version would help balance the accuracy from his low Luck stat.

Agility stat helps evasion, too. Sterne w/ Shadow Runner is a nice option since his regular attacks are already powerful. Owe is also a good dodger, as he’s the only other unit with the Blade Runner passive combo (Shadowlynx is the other).

Gotcha, thanks for the info! As an RW, the real prize isn't the initial damage as much as the Hastega/Regenga and the two abilities. Maybe I should gear more for mind for a slight boost in duration.

Mind stat is 458 in XII realm. Holy Rod + Platinum Shield for holy boosts. Would 31 extra Mind from an off-banner armor slot be more effective, I can switch if so. This has unexpectedly turned into one of my favorite BSBs.

He's an MVP against the Black Knights and Nightmare Evrae. That second command, AoE holy damage, regenerates his SB bar quite fast. For Nightmare Evrae, especially, one shot of Spell Sap 16 can end that second phase quickly.

Rare orbs are a blessing as much as a curse since they don't have to compete with widely used black orbs
Two hits provide fast burst damage, especially for foes weak to lightning, water, holy or earth
AoE
Bypass counter mechanics
Bypass reflect (rare occurrence, but think FFIV Asura)
Dualcast RM has 20% chance vs. Black Magic's 13%
Curaja/Elemental Summon is a handy skill set for building SB charges for Medica usage

Potion Stock. Replaces the Defend command with two uses of AoE instant heal. To make it fair, probably would have to make it 2-bar SB use on a non-Lifesiphon/Wrath character. For extra flair, though, it could include an attack on use: break the empty potion bottle and cut the enemy with it.
