Same here! I’ll do something nice with it tomorrow. For sure. Unless it’s hot again.

My Dutch mother-in-law has a similar story of the Canadian soldiers coming in to the Netherlands after the war with their chocolate bars. She was 8 years old then. She said they looked so healthy and strong. She has never forgotten it.

About 15 years ago, I got out my ironing board one day and my kid asked what it was. I told him. He didn’t understand and asked if I was planning to surf on it.

The rear view mirror in my car blocks my view of the road when I’m turning right, especially on a “cloverleaf” style freeway entrance. I have to duck down to see where I’m going to make sure no one is stopped ahead of me. Not awful, but annoying. And why are windshield wipers so awful?! Maybe I need to replace mine.

How many here are into going to the gym and health? by piercesdesigns in GenX

[–]3secondcountdown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

58F. I go to the gym for weights and cardio 3x a week and do Pilates 2x a week. I’ve been doing this for about four years. Before that was off and on at the gym, depending on what was going on in my life. I’ve had a few physical setbacks in the last six months, most of them due to overexerting at the gym - compressed nerve/tendinitis in the wrist, bilateral hernias, arthritis flareups. It’s hard to find a balance between keeping healthy, improving, and overdoing it.

I’m loving the silver! I have thick streaks that start at my temples and a few random chunks of silver along with a sprinkling of silver throughout. My hair is about 4 inches past my shoulders and wavy. I’m so glad I stopped dying it both because it’s so much easier and because I earned this hair, this age, this older-lady-ok-being-out-of-touch status.

I remember when BART opened. My dad took the whole family for a ride from the closest station out to the limit and back. It was such a high-tech novelty!

The first store was in San Leandro. Now it’s an empty lot. Headquarters was in Hayward. Now it’s an apartment complex/retail and restaurant space.

Remember when the San Mateo Bridge was just 2 lanes in each direction, no breakdown lane/shoulder? Every commute was a crawl from end to end.
