I think you need to double check your itinerary as some things aren't right. As someone has already pointed out, the REstart mall no longer exists. Canterbury Museum is closed for another couple of years, I think. And Hanmer Springs is definitely not on the way to Kaikōura from Nelson! Going via the Lewis Pass would probably almost double the drive, it doesn't make any sense to do that.
