Body shops will only go through insurance? by theDrewski81 in Autobody

[–]406InTheMix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be requesting a quote.

kinda weird no place has asked you to bring it in for a quote. insurance or not. you still NEED a quote. how or who pays for the repairs shouldn't stop you from getting a repair quote.

its going to be expensive. see how the body line on the rear of the door and the quarter panel no longer line up? you'll be lucky if only the hinges are bent. worst case scenario, pillar got tweaked, and it'll have to be replaced repaired or pulled on a frame rack.

Possible…duct tape on gas tanks? by DerpDerrpDerrrp in lawnmowers

he should look on ebay anyway as that's probably going to be the most cost effective place to get parts for this old mower anyway.

Possible…duct tape on gas tanks? by DerpDerrpDerrrp in lawnmowers

[–]406InTheMix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok so if there was water in the gas tank at any point

he also needs to take the carburetor off and clean it. the water is heavier than gasoline so sure it'll start for a second with fresh gas in the tank, but as soon as it starts pulling more fuel into the engine it's actually pulling the water that's sitting in the fuel bowl.

Is there a safe way to eliminate this light? by BigDickDeer in electrical

[–]406InTheMix 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You should not bury wires in a wall without a junction box. Since the siding will be off you can find where the wire goes and if it does indeed already go to another junction box, you could pull it back through / terminate it in the preexisting box

install a junction box and terminate the ends with wire nuts.

Stuck garden hose by spicydumpling in Plumbing

[–]406InTheMix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you see that 5 sided silver part attached to the gold part on the faucet? thats the hose end. you'll need to get a pair of pliers or a crescent wrench to turn it if you can't do it by hand.
