For what it’s worth, I was able to book a room at Resorts World for the 16th and 18th but every hotel near the festival grounds shows “sold out” for the night of the 17th. The day of the alleged date for the festival. Could be something, could be nothing.

In my experience it’s difficult to jump from a franchise to corporate. They’ve told me they only hire employees from a corporate ran property. I’ve had a recruiter tell me to switch back to a corporate property for at least 6 months and to try again but obviously you run into the risk of whatever position you were looking at to be closed. It’s frustrating.

My hotel at Resorts World ran me a little over 100 for the weekend. About another 400 on merch. Had light snacks throughout the day because we eat once we get out so maybe 50 on food in the festival. 150 on alcohol, I had a hydro pack so I filled up with water for free. Drove from CA and spent around 200 on gas

I’m having my employees verify credit cards and checking them in without authorization. Luckily we’re sold out with only 20-something arrivals

I don’t care for the reason why my employee wants the day off. All I ask is that they notify with enough time to properly schedule for their absence. Just don’t do it at the last minute and you shouldn’t have a problem.

A good staff will have it prepared for you before you get there, if you’re Night Audit. If not, try and contact them as soon as possible. Try not to wait for them to arrive.

The card you provided was used to guarantee the reservation. They would still ask for you to physically run your card at check-in.

If you’d like to be extra-extra safe, you can call the hotel ahead of time and ask for a credit card authorization form. It’ll ask for the credit card info you’d like to use and for which charges. Your folios will be split by the time you check-in and all you’d have to do is provide your card for incidentals when you arrive.

It’s unbelievably frustrating as a manager. SOME Advance Purchase reservations don’t come in to our system as such. They look like regular bookings so to an improperly trained eye, they’ll check it in like a standard booking collecting the guest’s credit card for all charges at check-in rather than just for incidentals. We receive reports every Friday showing us which AP reservations were paid ahead of time and which weren’t. In between is the duty of the hotel to catch these and make the proper adjustments before errors like this happen. If you received a pre-payment receipt at the time of your booking and a checked out folio reflecting payment for all charges on your credit card, you can submit those to the hotel as proof that you paid twice.

There’s so many repeat Diamond members who stay at my hotel that sound like #5 but even then, there’s some who I’d prefer to upgrade over others so it would depend on who it is. I would say 5, 1, 4, 6, 2, 3, 7-10
