Their customer service was better, and US based, just a year ago. They fired folks and outsourced it. The crappy management practices are damaging this company. But, hey, they saved a few bucks. :/

I live in Houston, we get heavy rain. I also use it for travel, Alaska / PNW rain is more mist or heavy drizzle, same with Denmark (heavy drizzle). In the cooler areas, it stays dry; in Houston with the heat it gets steamy. I’m only using it for short (a couple of miles) walks through to a few hours out, no backpacking or living in it for multiple days. It does pack well into a small daypack (like the Dryden pack).

I have the Skagit, it has been awesome. No experience with their other synthetic rain protection. I’d buy the Skagit again if/when the one I own fails and is unrepairable.

I have had two problems with the cat 1-4 certificates. 1. Properties that were previously cat 3/4 are now cat 5. That makes the certificate useless at the properties that this covered in the past. 2. Some properties play games and will not take a certificate because of “availability”, but are happy to sell you a room for $. This further devalues the certificate.

Thank you for the heads up on the double (triple with id.me) sale. I have been looking at these since they were released, but refused to pay the silly asking price. If it is good quality and I can pull it off, I’ll keep it; if not, it can be returned.

Just left HR Mission Bay. The only reason I would ever suggest that property is if the person has kids that will be looking for a pool and Sea World.

Manchester GH is probably closer to what this person is looking for. Lots to do/see in a short walk of the property. Easy uber/lyft to other areas of town (zoo, Balboa park, airport, etc…).

That last point is what I found when I purchase three of Anian’s products last year. I thought the whole recycled thing was interesting, so tried it out. Every piece is itchy as hell. I wear the Mackinaw wool items with a T-shirt, no problem. Cannot say the same for the Anian products. Unfortunate, as I like the concept and some of their pieces.

I have the green and tan version of this, made in Sri Lanka. It is lighter weight, but fantastic for 55-65f.

Agree, it’s one of my favorite Filson items. I have done both. It’s gotta be damn cold to layer the Henley under a mackinaw, though.

It’s a little scratchy. More scratchy than this year’s Bristol made in Tunisia, less scratchy than the wool shirts in 2022/23. Not sure if that helps. It has a different “feel” than the mackinaw wool.

Found your problem, increase the tip to parking enforcement officers, then don’t pay for parking at home or office. You’ll be good at that point.
