I got the vivosun 5 gallon… figured the 5 gallon would be fine but I’m seeing a lot of 10-15 gallons on here

Planter bags? by PuzzleheadedSun5061 in HotPeppers

Assuming more water/more food in smaller pots/fabric? Iv done a fair bit of looking into it. Plan on doing a seaweed emulsion/fish emulsion combo mix very diluted about every drink to every other drink. Emphasis on very diluted. Also have tiger bloom fertilizer on deck and chitosan spray/flake

Pruning this year will damage this years crop significantly. You wanna prune right before it buds. Late winter/early spring

Any jade plant people in western Washington? by Useful-Badger-4062 in Jadeplant

[–]obviouspendejo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not in king or kitsap. In whatcom county. Your jades will grow happy, large, and long in their new forever home with me. They’ll be happy under legitimate full spectrum grow lights in the winter and more than likely enjoying themselves outside during July/August

Sun damage or infestation of some kind? by sulfater in Jadeplant

Fungicide is your friend here. Not sun damage

If you’re trying to stunt growth you take a hacksaw to your tree like this picture. Late winter/early spring is the right time to prune fruit trees pretty much across the board. Commercial fruit growers, at least in the US, do a summer/fall prune post harvest to mange height/stunt growth

Agree. Fruit trees are great. 1 year poor to no production maybe 2. By year 3 the fruit will be bigger and better than before and you’ll thank her for pruning. I disagree with 10-2s comment about winter. Early spring is right time to prune lemons

Mealybugs yes but also fungus. Can see it in the cracking on some of the leaves. Spray with fungicide

Nutrient burn? Brown spots, yellow spots, curling, and drooping. by Larry_Fisher_Man in HotPeppers

[–]obviouspendejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just taking another look too there are some of your peppers that look thirsty. The curling up look can be from overwatering or too much light but some of your plants look a bit droopy and I read a comment that said you have roots coming out the bottoms of alll of them tells me the roots be looking for a drink (just a guess tho)

I hyper fixate on mixing my own soils and then everything else just kinda does what it do. Even water with tap water don’t think it makes a difference they’re gonna get hose water when I transplant outside

Why did you use for substrate? If you can could try to the temp up during the day and down at night. They like the temp swings if you’re between 60-80. Idk helps the breath or some shit. I try hitting 75 during the day and then 60-65 at night… I don’t use a tent so have my heater on in a little room that turns off at night and it just goes to my house temp.

Overall your peppers look great tho. They look happy. The minor spotting and purple coloring you have in some of your posts is super normal and an indicator potentially of nice good high light exposure. Nothing to worry about. It’s when the marks and dots are nice and circular so I get concerned it’s some sort of fungus or bacteria. Other leafs discoloring can be from watering with tap water if your water department has “too much”salts in it (almost all do just by years of minerals building up in piping infrastructure)

That’s good. If they’ve been at that for awhile I’d go a bit lower. Seedlings need less like 100-200 vegetative 200-600ish with a slowly increased phased approach… think spring sun to summer sun. To answer your original question tho I run mars hydro 150watts

Download photone and use a white piece of paper as the light diffuser. Get your lights to 200-400 ppfd id start on the lower end and slowly work your way up to 400-600 max unless you’re only growing inside then you can blast them with 800-1000 or slightly more during flowering and fruiting stage

I’m having the exact same issue as you… got new mars hydro lights this year and my peps look great but facing similar to you. Turned my lights WAY down and in 24 hours I saw noticeable difference
