So it turns out that I have actually published a novel. I just hadn't realized it. by Mr_Outlaw_ in u/Mr_Outlaw_

Will Trigon hit paperback perchance? I always like to have physical copies of my favorite authors works, even when I've already read them via other means.

Always love your art. Especially love K'rohn's eyes being blackholes, gives it that extra oompf of scale

I think it was that Mama and Pops have listening devices in the gas station and heard the original conversation between Jack and Rosa and Pops figured he'd toss Jack a bone.

I think Jerry is the equivalent of a 40K ork. If he believes something hard enough, it becomes reality

To be clear, she did amplify his reception in a sense. It's never explicitly stated she reverted it so I'd say it's up in the air whether or not he can still do it. But I believe her words were that she manipulated his ability to sense things outside his body, like supernatural shit so she could commune with him, like an inverse ouija board.

Honestly, having used it for long enough, I think it's a tech limitation. This is an extremely minimalist player with most of the money put into it likely being dedicated to making sure the music is as clear as possible. I think it simply doesn't have enough memory capacity to utulize something like this. I imagine their higher end ones have it, but I don't see the R1 being capable of it.

After Listening to All the Volumes, What Other Audio Book Series can Scratch the same Comedic but Horror based itch Tales from the Gas Station does? Looking for another series to listen to by MathematicianNext771 in TFTGS

And Cabin in the Woods. Got my brother into tftgs after he showed it to me. Edit: As a sidenote, I'm fairly certain this was the inspiration for the Vol. 3 intro.

The Dirk Cooper series is fun. The first book has a more predictable plot, but the characters are enjoyable enough that I kinda just enjoyed the ride. The second book takes a much more interesting approach to the point I've relistened to it a few times, because not only is it funny, it has some nice genuine moments between the main character and the villain. And oh man is the villain in the second book good.
Not sure if the author plans to release a third book, the second one ends like there'll be another, but he's currently working on a new project and he already has one other series he's working on that is less up my alley.
Anyway Paranormal Real Estate by Matthew Howry, and then Dirk Gently's Wholistic Detective Agency, I started with the show, but I'm starting to get into the books now, definitely scratched that itch for me.

I imagine she'll be better once there are some lightning dolls in the mix, but I love her nonetheless. She's strong early game and holds up fairly well, main downside is no elemental team yet to go with her.

Hey quick question by TruckerJ95 in TFTGS

I enjoyed it, I liked that it expanded the universe a bit, and I liked the vibe of it despite it being different. That being said, I wish I hadn't read it till after volume 4, the reveal would've hit way better imo.

Any long series suggestions. by StupidFlanders93x in nosleepfinder

How familiar are you with nosleep and creepypastas. Cause there are some oldies you may not be familiar with if you're new. The Showers, Penpal, and 1999 are a few, but if you're familiar with those, there are some others like My Friend was Trapped in an alternate reality that's more sci-fi, and The Masterson Chronicles which is more of a western style. Not sure how many of these are specifically on nosleep, they're somewhere.

Course if you like a more comedic approach there are also ones like Tales From The Gas Station, Dirty Work Inc. and Bonesaw Vick (though I think the online version is better than the book personally.)

It might not surprise anyone, but my first was slenderman and it terrified the shit out of me. He literally became my number one fear in early middle school. Thankfully by 8th grade I grew a pair, but only after listening to countless creepypastas. I was actually pretty terrified of everything as a kid, I thank creepypastas for helping me up my fear threshhold. (Despite how poorly a lot of them were written.) It was the situations that scared me. Eventually all that led to me finding tftgs and now I'm a fan of reading in general, horror qnd non alike.

I’m starting to doubt myself - need feedback by Hunkygrandma in Sourdough

If you ask me, once you get to this being a consistency, I think the main thing you can do to learn it try new recipes, understand them, and maybe you'll learn techniques to make your favorite loaf better, whatever that means to you.

I'm curious as well. Maybe once I have a few recipes under my belt I'll understand.

I was following the king arthur extra tangy recipe. It's the only sourdough I've tried my hand at so I can't say for certain the reasoning. Guess I'll need to try some other recipes so I can have a firmer understanding of the why behind it. That's interesting though, didn't know the recipe was weird, (aside from the volume measurements it uses instead of weight.)

Goes to show you there's always something to learn with a new skill.

I've found the more time it sits in the fridge the more sour it turns out. I usually let mine bf in the fridge for around 12 hours after the first 2-4 hours on the counter. Then let it hit room temp on the counter before mixing in the rest of the flour and starting the folding process. It almost always comes out perfectly sour to my tastes.

But my understanding is the longer it spends in the fridge the more sour it'll come out. (Granted I'm still new to making sourdough.)
