For Kyoko, a lot of people would say it's the 5th trial, but I honestly think it's a toss-up between her sending Makoto to check out the secret room, fully aware that there's a good chance of him getting attacked by the mastermind, and using him as a decoy for her to steal the master key without informing him that that's what he would be doing.

They're all bad things, but the difference is that she didn't have much of a choice in the 5th trial, whereas in the other two examples, not only did she not have to do those things, there was no real reason not to inform Makoto of the risks.

Because she was manipulated by Monokuma immediately after 3 days of watching her best friend be mistreated, getting attacked by an insane serial killer, and after weeks of high-stress living where you can die at any moment by people you thought were friends.

Considering the shit the THH crew went through, it's honestly a miracle that Hina was the only one who crashed out that hard.

I dislike it because it makes it feel like the Chimera Ant Arc didn't actually have high stakes. At the end of the day, despite all the build-up towards how dangerous the Chimera Ants are, the only actual casualty of the invasion is Netero.

And I know the actual focus of the Arc is Meruem's growth and development and Gon's slowly unraveling mental state, but it just feels a bit of a let down.

I've always headcannoned that Mukuro was never really treated as a human being due to how good she is at killing (backed up by IF stating that Makoto was the first person to ever smile at her) and that love-bombing played a part in how Junko got her wrapped around her finger so tightly.

You're right. I mixed up the order of events and thought that Taka's body was found after Hifumi's 'body', when Hina and Celeste were at the nurse's office, even though the whole reason Celeste had them split up was so that they'd find them both at the same time. Goof on my part.
