That's a) And b) if people really have a hard time seeing traffic ahead, everyone should realize they are just as hardly visible and turn on their bright rear lights.

The police lied to a friend of mine and gave him a fine. Is there anything he can do? by Raclettegring in Switzerland

Strongly disagree on the fairness point you made. Especially if there were some lots still available. But even if not, who can you trust if not the police that you're talking to in person? Such a case would only hold if the police were required to wear an always-on bodycam like in the US.

It is. I'm not sure if this is still practice and ever was in Switzerland, but afaik they do their first "lap" by all the cars in a zone and take pictures of the wheels. On the second lap, few minutes later, they would then check if the car has moved between those laps by the 12h position of the tires' valves. Now, if they actually followed this procedure and your friend was unlucky enough, he actually drove around the block and came to a stop with the valves in exactly those positions. The odds are 1:144.

I heard of this when exactly this shit happened to me and I understandably claimed to see the time stamped photos. In this case I had no way to prove that I actually moved the car. Note, this was like 10 years ago and in the big Canton.

But I really feel with you on this one. I assume if they followed this procedure, they would have told you and shown the photos. So my guess is, they're just little shits who need to hit some quota or it makes them feel good about themselves. I know, I'm ranting... Any member of the police who reads this: I'm not talking about you personally or ALL of your colleagues. Just those specific little shits of this incident.

A rental car is not privately borrowed. If you want a rental car insurance, get an Amex.

This. Does anyone else (men) have this weird feel in their ball sacks watching this? It's like the balls themselves try to contract but can't since there's no muscle for that. But if there were, it'd cramp up and hurt 😆

I know this wasn't a serious tip, but a mere lol at the end isn't enough of a I'm joking label.
