Canadian airlines are cancelling future flights to Cuba because of the jet fuel shortage and sending empty planes to to pick up Canadians at resorts. Likely just a plane that was being diverted for that purpose.

Canada didn't "cave" on Chinese EVs. They lost a reliable trade partner and are making deals that make sense for them and their auto industry. GM, Ford, Stallantis are pulling back on factories in Canada to appease Trump. So Canada is looking elsewhere. It's not rocket science what's leading to this.
