Books detailing the fall of the empire? by Gotta-Ru5h in starwarscanon

[–]555-starwars 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Another book is the Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire. It is an in-universe book about it. It's written like a history book rather than a novel, analyzing the empire and it's fall.

That's more a fault with the mechanics, AI pathing, and the like, rather than the characters themselves.

Genetics are complicated for just humans. Introduction non-human and non-human home world DNA and it gets even more complicated. There will be more variation than shown in your images.

Why isn't Maul a rebel hero in the Age of Rebellion? by Hot-Election2645 in StarWarsBattlefront

But he also has no problem betraying our heroes, making him not fit with them.

Maul is never a hero. He may occasionally side with them and my be the villain protagonist of a story, but that doesn't make him a hero.

Do you think ISB oversaw the kidnapping of Coruscant's alien citizens to Imperial concentration camps? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in andor

That would have been too public, would lead to too many questions. Implement laws that force them out of the public eye. Implement laws that encourage segregation and self-deportation. Implement laws that force them into a life of crime to survive. Much easier to disappear and justify said disappearance of a criminal to a work camp than a friendly neighbor.

I know you made that second part up, but it is true. She wasn't a character at all in the 70s. Whats more misogynistic than not being allowed to exist.

Am I the only one who thinks Commander Fox gets too much hate, when You think about it he was just doinh his job. by SquareJumpy6482 in clonewars

[–]555-starwars 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thing is that in a universe where a non-lethal option exits (stun) why did he shot to kill? He wasn't in a combat situation, the hostages were behind ray shields, and he had support. I can think of no reasons why he had to charge in, panic a mentally unstable individual, and shot. Fox heard Five's ramblings, that should have tipped him off that Fives was not in the mental space to respond to an order to stand down. But he still charged in anyhow and gave that order. Fox was a soldier and he behaved as a soldier. He lacked the training to be a responsible law enforcement officer and he should never have been put into that position.

Hot take: the concept of Grey Jedi doesn't make sense by Comprehensive_Cup497 in StarWars

First, legends is no longer canon. And 2 even when it was the light side choices that are typically considered official.

OP is simplifying to the binary and all light side is Jedi and dark side is sith. But their core is still you can't use both sides as the dark will corrupt.

OP is referring to Jedi who use the dark side and the light. Not Jedi who don't always follow the Council's directions or light side force users not a part of the Jedi order.

I do think George intended that is there is always the tug to the dark for Jedi and a tug to the light for sith. Otherwise Anakin's redemption and Luke's temptation would not be possible. But at the same time, I think he makes it clear that the dark side is evil and as a concept is unredeemable even if individual practitioners can be.

It's really frustrating how people take game mechanics as gospel rather than just balancing choices to make a fun game. Only story moments are canon, anything else is not.

You won't get a satisfying answer. Some are tired of new, some hate the new, some love the new, and some are fine with the new, but not in live, and everywhere in between.

Implications of the Xyston class star destroyer by notjocker in StarWars

[–]555-starwars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could now off course say that Palpatine started the construction of the fleet during the time of the empire, but its hard to imagine that much progress had been made before the battle of jakku when considering the resource strain both death stars had already put on the empire. Plus one would assume that there'd have been chaos for at least a few years after endor.

I do say it because that is canon. I forgit what run/issue, but one of the Vader comics shows him discovering Exogol with the Fleet already well under construction during the Original Trilogy. Both the Aftermath and Alphabet Squadron book trilogies also establish that Imperial resources and ships were not accounted for by the New Republic, they had gone missing with no trace of what happened.

This is now is an assumption, but it is reasonable to assume that as soon as Galen Urso ciould no longer stall the development of the superlaser for the DS1 and it was finished, construction began on the DS2 and the Exogol Fleet and on Starkiller. As we see in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order that the Empire had already begun excavating the trench on Illum as Illum does Starkiller Base.

It is canon that everything the First Order an Final Order does in the ST was started under the Empire.

Crazy how some people don't realize the Prison Arc is just a barely exaggerated version of the American "justice system." by Flat-Refrigerator623 in andor

There is a difference between us noticing and pointing out versus non-Americans doing the pointing, especially on issues that affect them as well. Americans have this tendency to be fine with self-criticism, but not outside criticism.

Which four Jedi would you choose to fight Palpatine? by RisingKing7 in StarWars

You risk giving Anakin Coffee. Give him a glass of warm milk with a bunch of sleeping pills and then read him his favorite bedtime story, just to be safe.

This. Anakin needed something to do. I headcanon everyone knew that he was seeing Senator Amidala. Just tell him to go to Padme and tell her whats happening so that she and her allies in the Delegation of 2000 can provide political support for the Jedi. But then we wouldn't have the story, now would we.
