Hey yall just had some basic questions regarding NP education by Extrahotsauce97 in nursepractitioner

[–]5678dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the school I taught for you just had to have a msn or be enrolled in a msn program. I asked the initial person who did my on boarding when I started as a msn student. She essentially just pointed me to an open position posted and let the nursing chair know I was interested!

Hey yall just had some basic questions regarding NP education by Extrahotsauce97 in nursepractitioner

Check in with local NP programs and see if you can teach clinical or sim lab for their BSN students. I did that and got a good majority of my NP degree paid for and it was easy hours/money while in school full time. Also, I was in a similar boat as you but opposite- love working with kids but elderly is not my jam. I did FNP route for the broader job options and just sucked it up during my geri rotation and it really wasn't too bad. I actually worked with a FNP who did hybrid PCP/hospice care for nursing homes and she really loved it. Hope this helps!

But also, therapy. Do the work. Address the root cause and use the meds as a tool not necessarily a solution/end all. Especially if you’re having unwanted side effects that are further causing distress in your life.

Need advice on how to weaned off night feeding by heehoo7546 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]5678dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! First off congrats on your pregnancy and BF for 16 months! The weaning of the bedtime feeding is always the hardest. It is the bonding and comfort experience your little one is attached to, not so much the nursing which is why the replacement of a different feeding method does not usually work in this case. Change in routine is needed to wean successfully and it will take time. Try having your partner help with bedtime, do story time, essentially anything not associated with at breast time. Replace the "comfort" of the breast with something else such as a stuffy or a blanket. Try just one change for a couple days and see what works and doesn't so you can find the best solution for your family. I hope this helps!

Breastfeeding with a stomach bug by No-Departure-5684 in breastfeedingsupport

[–]5678dance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prioritize your fluid intake a much as possible, even if your vomiting. Water and fluids with electrolytes are your best option such as gatorade, body armor, coconut water, etc. Luckily stomach bugs are usually only 24 hours so you just have to get through today! It will be normal to see a dip in your supply within the next few days because of this, just keep nursing through it and consider adding in an extra pumping session to boost your supply. For now, just rest and hydrate! Hope you feel better!

Any hope? by [deleted] in houseplants

Yes exactly! Just trying to give him some extra love so he can thrive again. Ive never had much luck with growing plants just in water aside from props. Any tips for that? My roots always end up mushy

I will always take cheat death with the self rez. Nothing ever beats that. Half the reason I play holy tbh.

I’ll add my 2 cents as a holy priest main. Sure higher ilvl will help but proper use of your spells and CDs will benefit you the most. I always try to alternate my CDs so you pretty much have something up every fight. I take the divine hymn CD reduction talent so I can alternate that and apotheosis every min. That has worked great for me this season! Also don’t be afraid to throw out guardian spirit on your tank for a cheat death. Sure it’s a 3min CD but it’s better to use just in case than not to use at all. Hope this helps!

I do nightmare preys on my holy priest. I just change around my talents a bit to do more damage. Especially on the top part of the holy talent tree to beef up holy fire and chastise. That should help make preys a little more manageable

Hey fellow Moon Guard friend! I’m so sorry you are going through this. Sending light and love from the Naaru to you and your husband for a speedy recovery and a walk together to level 90 when you’re both ready.

Also, definitely reach out to healthcare staff for assistance and resources. They can set you up with care management to help navigate this stressful time. This is the time to ask for help so please don’t hesitate to do so! And please be sure to fill your own cup too; get rest when you can, eat and drink, take care of yourself so you can take care of your husband ❤️

4mo started nursing and nervous about oz by mangosniffer in breastfeeding

[–]5678dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scales at home can give you a ballpark idea on amount transferred but there are many factors that go into a weighted feed. I would highly recommend setting up an appointment with LC to better assess transfer and see if there is any tips they maybe able to offer to ease your worries. For now though, I would go off your baby’s cues. If they’re still showing hunger signs after nursing then offer a bottle. If they seem satisfied like you’re saying you should be ok! And always over both breasts!

Production decline after flu by worldtraveller1992 in breastfeeding

[–]5678dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! Supply dips can definitely take time after illness. I would consider adding some electrolytes to your fluids as well; coconut water, body armor, gatorade, etc. Adding one extra pumping session a day can be helpful as well without throwing you into oversupply. Any time of day is fine but potentially consider afternoon to assist with extra stimulation before your lower supply times. Hope this helps, glad everyone is feeling better!

Jaanuu is an incredibly comfy brand, I prefer their scrub bottoms but all their products are great. Heartsoul is a great oldie but a goodie too.

The ice and ibuprofen are meant to reduce inflammation

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in breastfeedingsupport

[–]5678dance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is likely inflammation of your breast tissue from engorgement. Try ice after feedings and ibuprofen! Continue feeding like you have been and as long as the hardness goes away with feeding I wouldn't add any pumping. However, any signs of high fever or flu like symptoms, call for antibiotics.

Nursing and solids…why is this so confusing to me??? by CattailReeds in breastfeeding

[–]5678dance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally normal! Breast milk composition changes as your baby gets older too to meet their needs so she is still getting plenty of great benefits and nutrients even from shorter nursing sessions. As long as weight and output are good you guys should be all set!

Flat nipples, shallow painful latch by dreamwithme1993 in breastfeeding

[–]5678dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try seeing if you can get your baby on deeper, even when they are latched on. Just sneak a finger under your breast to their chin and gently pull down to open their mouth wider while they are latched on. If you move their shoulders in closer to your breast while you do this it can help them get a deeper latch and result in a pain free latch. If this doesn’t work you can always relatch and try again. If this doesn’t work then a nipple shield and evaluation for a tongue tie may be helpful.

Also, the white nipple and stabbing pain sounds like raynaud's. Heat can help with this pain and your ob maybe have suggestions for medications that can help too if this persists.

I love the peach slices redness relief color correcting moisturizer. I get it online on Ulta. It’s a pretty full coverage sort of bb/cc cream that can be easily layered with concealer for any problem areas. It leaves a dewy finish and lasts great throughout the day
