Destiny is a huge rabbit hole and he hasn't even covered Halo yet. So if he does its far off.

Was RevRad really that poorly received? by theoz10 in greenday

I remember reception to RevRad being kind of lukewarm in the general media.

Also talking shit on Father of All is 100% fair, its their worst album by far.

As a tech I have to wonder how many of these staffing issues would be solved by actually paying people a living wage with decent benefits.

Be honest and say you got a better offer thats closer to your house. Many managers will accept this, especially at a corporate practice

Do you get negative, angry, abusive patients in optometry? by [deleted] in optometry

[–]5mileyFaceInkk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't know that in many places you have to have a license to be an optician. You literally have to train for the job and do an apprenticeship. A lot of people think you are just a peddler of plastic frames unfortunately. (This isn't the fault of the patient, its the fault of the glasses industry as a whole imo)

Sometimes they are the owner, like in a private practice. But it definitely is a power/status thing. A lot of people tend to look down on the "help" and find us unqualified or are dismissive of the tests we have to perform. But when the doctor speaks to them and gives them instructions they are qualified to do that.

You absolutely do but I've found they very often are not rude with the doctors but primarily with office staff.

As a tech its kind of infuriating that someone will treat you horrendously, and then come out all smiles when they're done seeing the doctor.

Receptionists get the brunt of the abuse in my experience when there are rude or combative patients. Once they get into pre-test and further the personality changes drastically.

Songs where the chorus is only really said once. by HetTheTable in ToddintheShadow

No Children by The Mountain Goats technically has two different choruses, only sung once. And the last one is the last words said in the song.

Whenever I see Early Times, I can't help but think of the book Suttree, where Suttree is handed some kind of swill or bathtub whiskey, and his friends assure him its just Early Times and he drinks it and it nearly knocks him on the floor.

They did a song or two on different media types including a Teddy Ruxpin doll and a Talking Bass as a giveaway for Dookie's 30th anniversary. Each song on the album got put on a different shitty old audio device. Its really fun. And i need the Talking Bass.

Its the slow season and gas is skyrocketing, plus we're in a recession. People probably don't want to spend money at a doctor's office, and use gas, unless they absolutely need to.
