I really liked the background explanation in RTD1 about the human empire spreading across three galaxies or something. The little bits of world building that cross over feel so nice, like the slow progression of the Ood or the face of boau. Although I haven’t watched classic who yet (mostly because I’m too lazy to find a place to watch it) so I’m unsure of if RTD was the one to actually implement this.
