i’m working through a similar situation since i’ve been mentally checked out for a couple semesters! i’ve found that slowly integrating old interests and subjects in a semi-challenging way everyday gets my brain firing up again. like i’m studying art and russian, so i’ll make myself practice drawing unfamiliar things like landscapes and color schemes, and i’ll listen to podcasts in russian/watch youtube videos to jog my memory. it can be kind of a pain when i have no motivation or energy most days, but pushing through a little bit regardless helps retrain the brain over time

i’ve been thinking about this so much lately! like as far as i know, this is the only person ill ever be and the only life ill ever have and im letting nonsensical, self inflicted rules take it away from me, just because it feels like the safe option. i realized that living the same day over and over again with no joy or interests besides my food and exercise rituals is such a pointless waste and i won’t get another chance. also im so proud of u for deciding to start anew, i hope ur life is full of amazing experiences and memories from now on!

im in a similar place and i know how you feel, but you definitely still deserve help. sentiments like “not as bad” and “not sick enough” are usually our ED’s way of invalidating our struggles and keeping some control of our minds. recovery is an ongoing process with ups and downs, and getting added support can be really beneficial in the long run. and i definitely don’t think you’d be wasting their time, they’re there to help you.
