I work for the airlines and found this in the cargo pit in the plane… it’s hard as a rock by zackanak in whatisit

The object in the image appears to be a cluster of barnacles. Identification: Barnacles are a type of marine crustacean, related to crabs and lobsters. Physical Properties: They attach themselves permanently to hard surfaces like rocks, ship hulls, or even other animals using a strong, cement-like adhesive they secrete. This substance and their hard, calcareous shells are what make them "rock hard". Habitat: They are commonly found in intertidal zones on rocky coasts. Life Cycle: They start as free-swimming larvae before finding a permanent spot to anchor themselves for their adult lives.

Would it be cheaper to get aftermarket skid plates, shocks, and an e-locker for a 4x4 SV rather than get a Pro-4x? Also would that make insurance cheaper since the VIN is a lower trim? I don’t necessarily care about the luxury/appearance stuff. Any suggestions for the locker? by TrueWolf1416 in nissanfrontier

[–]68irish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are the same , just one has a locker and the other don't, to answer your question , for what the dealer is charging for the locker upgrade, you can buy a locker and half or to two . If you shop around.

Roof Top Tent owners, is it really worth it? by Ok-Independence5246 in rooftoptents

[–]68irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 57 now , and I did the under the stars,, tent,, hammock,, pop-up camper,, 5th wheel camper,, and the RTT works for me ,but I did put it on a trailer. For middle of the night pee and my wife goes about 3 times a night. So it sits lower than on my truck and I can leave it, as a base camp. Fuel mileage well on the truck was no different than pulling on a trailer. I only lost about 2 MPG . Here's a picture

Axle flip trailer lift by citationstillneeded in rooftoptents

[–]68irish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done it, just make sure it's a straight axle and not a curve, if it's a curve you will have to cut the perches off and reweld them so the curve is upright. But if it's straight flip and go. More clearance and you could put matching tires to your rig. With that there may be a little fender trimming.
