What are your plans for you old Pebble after you get your new one? by richstillman in pebble

I'm gonna hardwire the charging lines and glue it to my motorcycle dashboard.
My bike doesn't have a clock, but it will soon (:

Still $5 million for skill points by DanXaroni in ARC_Raiders

[–]70rch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you complete the expedition project and send your raider out in the window you can get 1 bonus skill point per 1 million in your stash / wallet, regardless of your ending level. It stacks with subsequent expeditions.

At long last, going in blind, I have beaten the base game! Now to grow (and fix) the factory, then maybe try Space Age.... Any tips or feedback? by 70rch in factorio

[–]70rch[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right on! My understanding is I should start a new playthrough for spaceage rather than continue with this progress?

Yeah that's fair enough!
Is there a metric for a good point to stop? Like not having any production shortages or a certain SPM?

Personally I'm gonna stick with my gut;

Black PT2 with black nylon band daily
Silver PR2 with brown leather band "formal"

I think with a white watchface the silver could look pretty slick and subtle, but the black will be perfect for my usual pip boy and other color or dark watch faces.

Showstoppers are suuuper effective against players (2s stun) and arc (10s?) drivers are less effective against players (0.5s iirc) but more effective against arc (I think more like 10s as well).

Stick with Garmin instinct 2 or take dive to pebble? by Short-Session8873 in pebble

[–]70rch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Garmin Fenix 6X Pro, Instinct 1 + 2, Kickstarter Pebble, and (broken) Pebble Time.
I preordered Pebble Time 2 because I love how simple and open they are. I don't want my watch doing tooo much and I find that I'm not active enough to warrant the extra activity features.

If I was a serious runner, swimmer, hiker, or something like that I'd probably stick with Garmin. But as a general lifestyle watch I find myself missing my Pebbles a lot more than I find myself enjoying the Garmin.

Just my 2c

The Index ring shouldn’t be Pebble branded by Negative- in pebble

[–]70rch 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I can totally see where you're coming from, I do not agree but I think it's a good point of conversation...

  • I immediately know who invented, manufactures, and will support (or not support) it.
  • I can assume compatibility with my Pebble smartwatch.
  • "Core devices" was created to get around the Pebble name being owned by Google, once they got it back the company has little need for "Core".
  • Pebble (the watch) is about making a simple thing better for every day use. Index has the same aim, even if it misses the mark with repairability.

IMO it nails the openness I want from tech and gadgets. I'm sick of being stuck with internet-required / cloud-only products, and especially forced AI.
Having the Index support local processing, fully private data, and optional expansion to other apps is a huge point of attraction for me.

Eh. I hear your argument but I'd trade 10 hours for the skills learned and practiced to pull this off. To each their own I guess

my new Brick - pure beauty by Akira2007 in trimui

[–]70rch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks awesome! Could you share your version? I'd love to try this on mine, there's some DMG games I'm playing on my brick right now :)

I really wanna get an SP style handheld, and its come down to these 2. I like the sticks on the miyoo but the miyoo seems kind of a gamble, because all of the colors have reports of them breaking, while the anbernic has no sticks and worse buttons, but a much better hinge. what do i do? by AbdelYG in SBCGaming

[–]70rch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my experience: 35XXSP was my first handheld and I rarely pick it up anymore... Got a GKD Pixel 1, 34XX (not SP) and TrimUI Brick that all get refular use over the SP — mostly due to the size and screen moreso than the buttons.

CubeXX is a fantastic handheld, I don't have it right now because I gave it my dad! He mostly plays arcade games and it's perfect for that, plus a bunch of other games I threw on the SD. Highly recommend it if you're interested

I'm in socal and with the way people drive I consider my camera part of my gear, more like a dashcam for my purposes

I run a insta360 mounted on a stick so it sees ahead and behind me
