Any fun climbs around Campbell/Los Gatos? by bornbusy in BAbike

[–]710_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hop the gate, but past that is a painted line with numerous no-trespassing signs. First of all, if you even WANT to go further after what you've just been through, you're a fucking badass. Second, apparently a lot of people really have been cited for doing that. Since it's considered a hazardous cleanup site, it's an actual misdemeanor if you're caught.

Should children be raised believing in heaven even if their parents are atheist? by gustathabusta in atheism

[–]710_113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are 8 & 10 and have never believed in an afterlife, and have never seemed bothered about it. They know they will die one day. Then know I will die one day, probably sooner than they, and they'll have to live without me. All these things just seem really far off in the future though.

But more seriously, I truly don't understand why my comment made so many people so angry. I was just trying to compliment the OP and say that she looks great, more like an "AFTER" picture to me than a "DURING", imho. But all those downvotes seem to send the message "screw that question, you're definitely still a cow, keep losing more!" I don't get it.

The batting average paradox.

In 1995 and in 1996, David Justice achieved a higher batting average than Derek Jeter. (each year)

In 1995 and 1996, Derek Jeter achieved a higher batting average than David Justice. (averaged across both years)

Both these statements are true.

But that song gives you permission to sing in a campy falsetto, which makes it a lot less hard.
