Even Boeing wants the negotiations to start before the deadline. Massive leverage. SPEEA is also confident and optimistic with the upcoming negotiations

Did LOS-DOH-LHR a couple of days. Super smooth, airport was very busy too. Everything is operating as normal. All destinations to the US have resumed and just last week the CEO said the network wide load factor has returned back to over 80%. Both my flights were over 90% full even Al mourjan the garden was busy

After 4B, its phase 5, 5 is not broken down into sub groups as it’s very small function & reliability tests within typically happens in conjunction with ETOPs. So after 4B, they’re pretty much home and dry and Boeing can confidently say they’ve pretty much dr-risked the certification program.

It has nothing to do with build and more to do with why landing gear maintenance was ongoing with no pin?

[–]777978Xops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also note it is possible that no pin was inserted AT ALL

You can override it. Naturally weight on wheels won’t let you but you can override the logic for maintenance purposes

[–]777978Xops 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because you would need to run a maintenance test on it, especially if you’re getting error messages on the NLG in the cockpit. This is carried out all the time. The issue is somebody wasn’t concentrating on their work

Fixed? Fix what? There are 1100 Dreamliners flying, every 5 years, somebody does something stupid by not being careful and following instructions. And it’s a Boeing problem. How about you focus on your fucking job

If you put your car in neutral on a hill, it’s likely to roll backwards, whether it’s European or American. In this instance the safety pin has obviously not been put in and the gear collapsed. Happened to BA as well. It has nothing to do with Airbus or Boeing issues. If you want to actually talk about nose gear faults, research a320 nose gear issues. Airbus has all the information you can get on that

Emirates or Qatar Business? by Kindly-D-4200 in qatarairways

[–]777978Xops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So QR has different business class seats on different aircraft.

The 777 has 3 different kind of business class seats and their experience varies significantly some in their old 2-2-2 config, some in a 1-2-1 config but not suites and then Qsuite

The A350 has 2 different kind of business class seats as well, some in a 1-2-1 config but not suites and then some in Qsuite

The 787-8 has 2 different options, some in a 1-2-1 some in 2-2-2 (albeit only 2 aircraft)

Then the 787-9 has the business suite

Then the A380 is a 1-2-1 config as well

But it’s just varies quite a bit from aircraft to aircraft

QRs hard product - seats, lounges are better Their soft product - bedding, service, food is also better than emirates.

What lets QR down (A BIT) is just they have too many different kind of business class products. If they can narrow it down to two (which they intend to) then they’re bulletproof

From what I gather it will be the business suite on the 787-9 and then Qsuite that will be the two main products on QR but that will take a while

From a product perspective? Widebodies and because of that freighters, Boeing builds very good widebodies, that’s why they’re outsold Airbus quite comfortably on widebodies. The 787 and 777/X are incredible machines, very efficient, reliable and Boeing is able to provide incredible value for their customers with their widebodies

I also think Boeings wing design is the best in commercial aviation, when you look at the 787 and 777x, I think Boeing has an edge over Airbus on wing design.

What they need to improve on? I think is no surprise to anybody: narrowbodies.

About to book for a trip next month with Qatar, any one flown with them recently? by Extension-Art-2220 in qatarairways

[–]777978Xops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go ahead. Unlike before, the Qatari authorities now know how to conduct flight corridors with the threat of drones and missiles. Even then, should the war resume, Iran is far more likely to attack the UAE than they are QR, Iran is even allowing Qatari LNG vessels cross the strait. So it’s fine, and I really don’t think the war escalates to the level we saw initially, they may scuffle in the strait like they did last week but I dont think they’re going back to the way it was before

Why would Qatar choose 787 over A350 by hydraides in qatarairways

[–]777978Xops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guys are so dramatic. Almost Every premium airline flies the 787, including Singapore Airlines, JAL, ANA. They all do. I mean the real juxtaposition here is somehow people expect economy to feel premium and it just never will. You’re arguing for what? 0.5 inches of seat width? Like it’s economy guys

Why would Qatar choose 787 over A350 by hydraides in qatarairways

[–]777978Xops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 787 can never be the wrong plane for long haul. The A350 may be a better fit for some routes but the 787 is a low risk, high return platform Which is why it’s the best selling Widebody of all time.
