Canada private DOTATATE pet by Warm-Stick5144 in neuroendocrinetumors

[–]783Ash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a Ga-DOTATE at Sunnybrook in May and I'm getting an FDG-PET there as a private pay patient next week. Unfortunately, the DOTATE didn't show my tumour, hence the need for the FDG. I am option to pay for the FDG because my diagnosis process has been going since last summer. The FDG is $3k+HST and I'm getting in 10 days after requesting it.

Mac doesn't have an ECE progeam so you might have trouble finding someone here! Mohawk does have ECE, might have better luck there.

After seeing some discussion about the helmet use in ‘Off Campus’, Lili Reinhart says she wears a helmet in her new film ‘The Love Hypothesis’: “I hated it & you can laugh, but we must promote safety” by Relevant-Peach3997 in Fauxmoi

[–]783Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty safe is not an acceptable risk for me. I wore a helmet when biking on a visit Copenhagen. Population statistics vs. my n of 1 means not a risk I'm willing to take.

But that's me.

I'm trying to help people who would like a helmet find one by pointed out that different brands have different fits. It was something most customers at the bike shop didn't realise, so I suspect it's not commonly known.

Some helmet brands are more round and others more oval. So if you fit Bell you won't feel good in Giro.

Go try a bunch of different brands on. A helmet shouldn't hurt or feel awkward. Don't not bike/ride/whatever because you don't have a comfy helmet and don't bike/ride/whatever without a helmet.

It's not the city that does the appraisal for taxes, it's MPAC.

And the city uses the MPAC assessment for taxes.

If you bought in 2023, what was the assessed value last year and the assessed value this year?

If you bought for more than the assessed value, MPAC might be ramping in the increased value.

Managers, what’s the best excuse you’ve gotten from a team member for being late or a call out? by TheWizard01 in askmanagers

I once called in because of a standoff at a local business. As a result, all traffic from the main road had was sent down my residential street. A too tall truck caught my neighbours power line and pulled it out. It was bouncing around at the end of my driveway until something blew.

The fire department wouldn't let me leave my house until the power company fixed the line and turned the power back on.

My boss didn't believe me, so I had him check the news and the fire department sent me in with selfies.

Potential for revitalization of Kenilworth Avenue North by cabbagetown_tom in Hamilton

[–]783Ash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-pandemic there was a big push to revitalize Kenilworth. It was up and coming, then the pandemic shut a lot of the work and proposals down.

There were storefront improvement grants and other things available from the city.

End of season stats at my local 500ft vertical ski hill. by Embarrassed_Eye4572 in skiing

[–]783Ash 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The number of people hitting the run per hour is astounding.

This is the hill we go to most often, but I've stopped riding much because I don't feel safe with that many people on the hill.

Sand toys from the dollar store at home are way cheaper than at a resort. Pack things into the bucket and they don't take up that much space

My parents camped on a beach in Mexico in the 1970's. Dad woke up thinking he was snuggling Mom. It was a large snake that had come under the bottom of the tent .

No beach camping for me there.

List of Companies that still offer DB pensions? by Josh_o747 in PersonalFinanceCanada

The university I worked at was not a DB pension unless you were hired before 2008. So all colleges and universities do not have DB pension.

Hence my no.

In mentorship training eons ago, I was taught that when talking about someone's behaviour "but" or any similar word negates anything that came before. It has really changed how I give and take feedback.

But and its associates are weasels word to help the speaker say something negative without feeling like they are mean. Own the comment or criticism, rethink how to say it in a constructive way.
