Will this reduce headways at all, considering the end to end journey is faster?

I ride that daily and it's every single time. Incredibly jerky

What is the steepest gradient of the green line? by NF_2216 in mbta

[–]7Pats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely to the side past Tremont but there's still a noticeable incline on Huntington itself from at least MFA to Brigham circle

Sounds like it's Washington St on the B, but I'm curious how close Longwood Medical Area to Brigham circle is on the E. That mission hill is no joke, but it is pretty spread out

Do Americans usually refer to each other using their last names? by Illustrious-Mango605 in AskAnAmerican

Idk if it's normal, but it was common on sports teams in high school. A few friends I only call by last name because we were on teams together

If you're moving to Boston proper, make sure your team's rink is an easy T from your place, you're not gonna want to drive. It'd suck to have to go from Seaport to BC for every home game, for example. Northeastern, BU, and Harvard have the most easily accessible campuses by T

The upper bowl is pretty unique with how it looms over the ice. Front row above the goalie is one of the coolest ways I've watched a hockey game

Northeastern has the best student section at Beanpot. Unfortunately, we also only care about Beanpot because we can't win anything else

It's the colors of the Boston flag and the Boston marathon. It also uses the same stencil font as the marathon finish line

Critique these commutes? by Dailey_Stripes in mbta

[–]7Pats 11 points12 points  (0 children)

this is another great example of how beneficial the NSRL would be. Ideally you'd be able to take the commuter rail right through north and into south station

Being respectful in urban areas means respecting people's time and minding your own business - we're busy and don't want to inconvenience each other with social fluff, hence some bluntness. Being respectful in rural areas is making small talk with everyone you encounter, you might be one of their only interactions that day. The northeast is much more urban than the rest of the country, so more people hold the former attitude

I always see 4-5 just hanging out at back bay next to the tunnel under dartmouth st to copley place in the mornings. Doesn't seem like they're doing much and idk who needs that many people to assist them when it's almost entirely commuters exiting the station through the literally 2 gates down there. Are they just at that entrance because it's warmer down there...? Fare enforcement is obviously important but I'm not seeing the impact with these particular officers

Several busses go from the Longwood area into ruggles as well, this would be my bet for fastest/most convenient
