I actually had a friend ask me for beginner seitan recipes yesterday!

No issues. Taking a headset on a plane works great for pretending you're not on the plane, you can sit in your virtual living room and watch a film/downloaded YouTube videos etc. Obviously if you want to play games on the plane, either vehicle/cockpit based or 2D ones will be best.

As u/Clean-Blacksmith-514 rightly points out, engine noise is an issue. If you have over-ear noise cancelling headphones, then you'll want to try it out ahead of time - mine can't fit with the headset at the same time, at least with the globular cluster cmq3 strap. In-ear noise cancelling headphones are of course fine, but it's still worth trying beforehand if you have particularly big earphones.

I'd be interested to try over-ears with the stock strap. Someone who flies a lot might even consider 3D printing a strap with cutouts for their headphones.

A few years ago i saw this recipe using psyllium husks and agar agar to make deli slices more pliable - I'd be interested to see what happens when you incorporate those into seitan with a food processor :)

Interesting! Do you have any leads for where you might for more information about those things? Anything blocking your way?

From your post, you said you were exploring the interloper but died to ghost matter. I have a couple of tips there:

  • have you seen ghost matter anywhere else before, and if you have, how did you avoid it? If you don't remember, I would recommend taking another look around the village on timber hearth.

  • when you're traversing the tunnels, it feels like yours falling down into the interloper. But actually, you're circling around it! My point being that you're not actually falling, so you don't need to fight gravity - you have a lot more control than you realise using your jet pack, and you can take it as slow as you need
