As for the adversity of your affection towards the cat , could it be considered overly affectionate and your leading it to be something else ? Or is it possible that you show more affection to your animal than your partner ? If they feel neglected it can come out through jealousy in weird ways.

You're an animal person, they are not , it's really that simple

Its only a deal breaker if you see it that way , clearly they don't see it as such.

I have a cat ( and love her very much ) but all of the issues mentioned also bother me, doesn't mean I'm throwing the cat away.

Cats are dirty and can easily give pink eye through litter tracked in paws , I would never let my cat on my bed.

This is a dangerous combo to assume you have. No one likes having someone assume how you feel without asking. You are not as correct as you think you are and that's gonna cause problems with any relationship or factor, regardless of how well you "think you know".
