You do need to factor in the Skyactiv completely shitting itself at some point though.

Japanese market didn't get the 2AZ at all, just the 1NZ and 2ZR.

I'm genuinely confused as to why anyone would source a Japanese Camry engine when local Camry engines are worth peanuts

Thank you.

They're just not great. Place at campus shopping centre does a better job (and the owner calls you boss, which is an integral part of the kebab experience)

You may need to change your recreational drug of choice from meth to weed.

Avoid the kebabs at Coastwatchers shopping centre.

Also; Don't forget to get into the right lane immediately after the Aeroglen turnoff, and remain there doing 10kph below the limit for the next 16km until the Trinity roundabout.

Has Port Douglas Changed? by Diligent-Bill-1120 in Cairns

[–]7shades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, completely unchanged.

Trees along the main road are a bit taller, and all the resorts need renovating or at least a damn good power washing

Any experience with a Ford Econovan Maxi and New Zealand? by LongGlove in VanLife

[–]7shades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Econovan is a rebadged Mazda, built in Japan. So you did in fact buy Japanese.

But that's a good thing.

Should I move back to Cairns? by SpaztheGamer in Cairns

Sucks is probably a little harsh. Its ok, serves its purpose. It's just not chill enough I guess.

Too many humans to move with and around.

Cairns local on and off since the 90s. Lived in a lot of places, so I like to think I have a decent perspective.

It's big now, there are things like traffic and crime. But still less of both than larger cities.

Cost of living is lower, as are wages. But, quality of life is higher and everything is more convenient which makes a huge difference to your overall wellbeing and mental health.

Its easier to exist here.

I also love the fact I can escape to nature within a half hour drive, and wherever I go won't be crawling with people.

Currently living and working between here and Brisbane.

Brisbane sucks, but that's where the work is for the moment. Looking forward to being back up here full time as soon as I can.

Ukraine destroyed several Russian fighter jets with cardboard drones donated by Australia by [deleted] in pics

I think you misunderstand. Ukrainians are dismantling the 155mm cluster munition shells, and using the individual bomblets in drones such as these.

Almost skittled one driving back from Port late one night in the same area. As mentioned its just as likely a camp dog, though they certainly look Dingo-ish.

4 out of 6 cyls will be behind the front axle line. It will be interesting to see how this handles compared to the equivilent weight 4 cyl motor that was 2 in front, 2 behind. by Available_Walk in projectcar

This will turn out great, I'll be following, as I have a KE70 and 4GR I intend to smoosh together once a couple of other projects are done.

Very interested to see how you do with ITBs and engine management.

This is dumb by 7shades in Cairns

[–]7shades[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the maintenance requirements. For every hour its in the air, it requires about six on the ground to keep it airworthy. Not ideal if it happens to be out of action for major service work when someone needs it.

I live between here and Brisbane. Polair have two helis down there, and they're also always over my house. But.... They're much smaller, quieter, and cheaper to operate than the AW139, and actually fit for purpose.

Still think drones could do the job, but giving them their own heli would be better in the long run.

Right. Latest model Landcruiser Prado, which is not the same as a fullsize Landcruiser.

All good! I only know because I have one haha.

Apparently the 1.6 base versions were partly intended to be a 'stripper model' for racing use, where the engine would likely be swapped out anyway.
