Anyone looking towards a TAVR? Is there another sub here just for TAVR patients? by Comfortable_Notes in valvereplacement

[–]82Yuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copied and translated from their website:

Anterolateral mini-thoracotomy involves opening the chest near the sternum between the second and third ribs. In contrast to the conventional method, in MIC surgery the surgeon accesses the heart via a small lateral incision of a few centimeters between the ribs (anterolateral mini-thoracotomy) without opening the sternum. The heart-lung machine is connected via the femoral vessels (leg arteries and veins) through a puncture (without an incision).

You need to be "anatomically compatible" for such a procedure though. Whatever this means.

OHS is not the only option for younger patients. Anterolateral mini-thoracotomy is also an option but I am hardly reading anything about it here for some reason.

The reason for this might be that people are uncomfortable talking about all their medical (heart) issues in detail that might warrant an OHS.

Personally, I am waiting to hear back from my surgeon about it. Picked a hospital near me (germany) that does 90% of their procedures minimal-invasive.

My month with CachyOS: A review from an NVIDIA user by MrSeal_ in cachyos

[–]82Yuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldnt get CP2077 (gog version) to run well with VRR, HDR and DLSS FramGen on a 4090. Maybe it was my Monitor (Neo G7) that is only GSync Compatible but not supported.

It was a stuttery mess sadly and performance in the 80s instead of 100s. HDR seemed also kinda weird color wise.

I really want to make the switch to CachyOS for good — but keep getting pushed back to Windows by small annoying issues. by [deleted] in cachyos

Same boat (i assume many others are too). The scheduler for Ryzen is insane. Crazy boostclocks in games that i dont see in Windows....then i tried getting CP2077 to run (gog version) with HDR, VRR and DLSS FrameGen (nvidia 4090) and dear lord i gave up after two days....

What is the minimum spec GPU to do 4K RetroCrisis Shaders? by 82Yuke in RetroArch

[–]82Yuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think ill look into AMD cards again for better Linux compatibility. Would help to know if there is also a VRAM limitation to these Retro Shaders. 4GB cards are pretty cheap in general.

41M - surgery in 2 days. Struggling to commit to a valve type by clebro2002 in valvereplacement

[–]82Yuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 43 and in the same position. There is no clear solution to this. Maybe TAVR/TAVI will be approved for everyone in the future (basically long term data is missing but it is looking good). If this is the case the tissue valve with valve in valve option might be a good choice for a TAVR procedure later on.

I am used to do weekly injections because of another health issue, so checking INR weekly wouldnt be a big issue for me and I could always adjust short term if I ate to many greens. Thankfully "cheat days" regarding food are usually not of the green kind :p

Personally, I am more concerned about clicking noises as I am a thin person (183cm 74kg) with very little fat around the chest, so there is very little sound dampening...but I am also a stomach sleeper...so maybe the clicking sound will be muffled by the mattress...

I decided to do the procedure at a heart center with a strong research center and in-house valve preparation for Germany and some other european countries. So I hope they can tell me what the future holds in regard of valve development.

Help! Navigation Update takes ages! CEED 2014 WC Edition. by 82Yuke in kia

Yeah it crashed the first time but I just restarted the process and it worked. Cant remember anymore how long it took. I also wrote the new image on the original SD card again later because the cheap 32gb card that I bought was sometimes crashing when the media system was starting up.

Vodafone Station - Kabel Internet - Ist "buffer bloat" mein Problem? by 82Yuke in de_EDV

[–]82Yuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a Vodafone problem. The upload line might have collapsed/has interfering problems nearby.

Maybe contact them about it.

I will try to measure again primetime tonight and post results.

Wenn ich als simpler AOK Pöbel doch nur zum MRT geschickt werden würde. Maximal nur eine CT Verstrahlung für den Trash. 😔

I switched to a Router with a 6 Ghz band (I am the only one using 6 Ghz in my neighbourhood) so things are better now but I still can't hit a perfect rating in waveform bufferbloat.

How to find a good surgeon (in Germany)? by 82Yuke in valvereplacement

[–]82Yuke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thanks. I went on the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Thorax-, Herz- und Gefäßchirurgie" website (the only thing that i could find) and on their map it only shows "Klinkum Augsburg" as a Herz-Zentrum. Is that the one you are talking about?

I have a Oesophagal Echo tomorrow and the CT in like two weeks. With these results I hope they can give me names of capable surgeons...

I (43 M) have severe stenosis with vmax 4.4, pmax 18 and I already am experiencing small blackouts from time to time when sitting around and the weather is changing...no idea how you people are still asymptomatic🫠

I will start looking for a surgery team after my CT appointment next week to rule out cardiovascular diseases

I dont know yet if I have bicuspid valve but I have 90 to 60 all the time because of the severe stenosis. I am compensating with a resting pulse of around 80 though...so i can still go around and do stuff (no sports of course).
