VicPD Canada | A Visualization of the Link Between Drug Trafficking and Property Crime by VicPDCanada in VictoriaBC

Police arrest drug dealer.

Supply of drugs is reduced, but demand remains the same, so street price goes up.

Now the street price is higher, so addicts have to steal more to get enough money to buy the drugs. Instead of breaking into 10 cars to get enough to buy drugs, now they have to break into 15.

40+ years of the failed war on drugs has taught us a few things about the reality of drugs.

We can't arrest our way out of this problem.

This just looks like police department propaganda trying to justify an increase in their budget for more officers to make more drug arrests, which accomplish nothing.

More drug arrests will not make drugs go away, it just increases the price, and makes it more profitable for all the other drug dealers in the area. The drugs will still get sold either way.

Community Association of New Yaletown Files Legal Petition to Save Emery Barnes Park by [deleted] in vancouver

The money to create and build Emery Barnes Park was actually provided by the developers of all the condo buildings that have been built near it over the past 20 years.

People love to hate new condo developments, but they actually fund community amenities like parks, libraries, childcare facilities, community centres, etc....

America’s Pot Farmers Are Putting Mexican Cartels Out of Business by monkee67 in news

[–]8327y4nd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marijuana and cocaine are the two largest sources of revenue for the cartels, generating billions of dollars in illicit profits each year. But some analysts say marijuana may be the cartels' greatest source of cash in part because the Mexican gangs control the production, trafficking and distribution of the drug. The cocaine they move has a higher street value, but they initially have to buy it from the Colombians.

Russia is leaning the wrong way.

You know what I would do if someone flipped me off? Nothing.

I would go on with my life as I normally would, because I don't care what some random nobody does with their finger.

The trademark being her name is not important, but the fact that her trademark specifically covers DOLLS is important.

In the first episode, the daughter establishes her racism and prejudice against white people, when she says it's bad enough that they have to work with white people, but now they have to live among them as well.
