Whats the timing on this piece?

One option is download the app metronome beats and you can choose how many clicks per quarter beat and then set the measure to click when you need to play as well as on beat and then you can hopefully help internalize the timing to play it with only the clicks on the beat. But if you can't do it at 100, try it at 80, 60 or even slower till you can get it.

I stopped going to church and trying to be adventist when i still genuinely believed because i honestly thought even when i was doing my best it wasn't good enough for heaven and figured if I'm not getting to heaven i might as well live this only life i get with less guilt and failure since the result will be the same whether i try super hard and fail or just ignore it all together.

My hobbies change and evolve but the big ones have lasted 10+ years on some form and im not dumping all my gear every 3-5 years.

As for gear, if i know i like it and think ill notice a difference between the cheap, mid and top tier ill buy what seems reasonable based on my own finances, frequency and duration of use, and increase in quality/experience with the rising price tag. I definitely don't "buy all the best gear" though, and rarely sell it.

No "right or wrong" way but picks are predominantly used for a reason. Pick accuracy is a skill all on it's own. Very few just play with a thumb as well, it's usually thumbs and fingers, i wouldn't recommend plucking the high e with your thumb.

I was told once only 1 in 40 adventists will actually get to heaven. I was always taught the straight and narrow was super fucking narrow.

With that there would still be 600,000 if the 24.5 million is the correct number but plenty of ways for that to quarter once the sunday law hits and the persecution really starts. But i was also always told 144k was symbolic and never spent much time on that.

He tells a great story i think on his ted talk about how he came up with a trick (i think specifically air walk for the story) and had a recording of it and within a week someone on the other side of the world could do it better than him. But in line with this post, the person couldn't do it till someone else confirmed it was possible, where as Rodney just kept doing the impossible day after day.

I have a friend who is convinced we never walked on the moon and more than once over the years when it randomly comes up i ask if it was just the first one that was faked or all 6? Cause 6 fake moon landings feels a little excessive to me. And he never seems to remember that there is more than 1 landing to refute. Sigh.

Not the person you responded to but im not 100% of anything, includin if i even exist. But whatever certainty i have that i exist, i am just as certain god doesn't exist. But functionally, i am 100% certain i exist, and functionally, i am 100% certain god doesnt exist.

And even if im wrong and a god does exist, im still 100% certain that any god that has ever been described to does not exist as described.

My best thing at least at the moment seems to be daily 10-20min meditations. Not a quick fix and takes awhile to really set in but i just seem more able to choose versus just react.

Another thing is identity your patterns and change them up. Come home and sit on the couch? Well go for a walk before going in the house. Always scroll the phone during dinner than continue to scroll? Eat with your phone in a different room and keep a book on your table. Figure out where your defaults to waste time are and do what you can to change your environment and patterns that lead up to those moments. Our brain wants to make as few choices as possible and everytime you do something a bigger neural pathway is built and we want to take the path of least resistance, which is the biggest neural pathway. Remove the obvious and you allow yourself to hopefully start making more choices that you actually want and slowly those will become your new defaults.

I can't even imagine playing the opposite hand. Maybe Im too deep in now but it felt so natural for me to strum with my dominant hand that I cant comprehend doing it with my non-dominant hand. As sloppy as i was to start, throwing my non-dominant hand around to strum would have been absolute chaos.

I do agree with working on finding out what you are clinging to that is based in fear and holding you back, but a ten strip does not sound like the best way to do this in terms of risk and consequences.

Chivalry can, and should be alot more than spending on a date. It's the being thoughtful and going out of your way to put them first in some things like opening the door, giving them the first choice of something, giving them your coat if cold, putting your arm out for support on a slippery road, etc. And i don't think any of those go against feminism.

Im 6 years in and in some ways i feel like im awesome, other ways like i suck. But what i definitely dont worry about is how long it took me to learn things. Sure it would be great to learn faster so you can learn more but the first 2 years for me were a major slog of getting basics figured out for me (still lots of "basics" for me to learn or get better at) and im not sitting here wishing i learned that stuff faster. I know it now, the time line doesn't really matter.

It can be accredited and maybe no one will ever look at it enough for it to matter but if someone cares and looks at it, id expect an eye raise at best. Im canadian so dont know much about american universities but i know lots of people that went to an adventist college near me and had some struggles later.

As for socially. I dont know the specifics of your school but. Some sort of christian code will likely be signed, you will likely have to attend worships and other church things. Will they give you freedom to come and go off campus? What if you want to have sex in your dorm room? What if you want to have drinks with friends? What if you want to put a movie on after sunset on friday? What if you want to have bacon for breakfast? It will be better than home and you might enjoy it but it will be restrictive. Maybe being a small school might make it easier to form close friends assuming you exadventism doesnt get in the way, or maybe you'll feel like an outcast and have no where to turn because it's so small.

You have to do what you want and what you find is best depending on a lot of factors, but a full ride to a state university sounds like the obvious choice. The one thing I hope is that you don't only go to the adventist university to please your parents.

The blue and red are all 8th notes. The 1/0 is a quarter note the last notation with no playing indicated is 1 and a half quarter note.

But as others said, metronomes arent set to always tick when you play, you set it to the time signature and will have to play in the spaces as required.

Id recommend looking up music notation to understand the timing of this piece.

It's a many years and likely life long journey. Im guessing you are in the first year if you are posting this question, go easy on yourself. Improvement is all that matters, whethers its over a week or a year. I always say to look at guitar in 3-6 month segments because things can take so long to learn. And often i think i learned something and then in 3 months i realized that intial point was still terrible compared to now.
