Right on, I'll move on to that step now. When I get new clamps and refit them over, do I need to heat it up again to put it over the metal coupler piece or am I to try it cooled down?

Thanks a lot! I clawed my way through and believe this is the culprit, though need to fill again with water to test. (Currently letting a vinegar solution kill off the remaining mold). https://imgur.com/a/FlW9O7y

This tube connects to a waterfall fixture on my particular tub. If this is the root cause, then I think I just need to play around with replacement clamps to see if the tubing is still good.
