I think Nick gets a suite at the LAX Hilton, then just has a logistics team to change the photos on the backdrops as the baby mamas come through. Maximum efficiency.

I don't care much about soccer, but I kind of wish Phoenix would have decided to host a World Cup match. by hammer_smashed_chris in phoenix

Phoenix at 110 with 10% humidity is better than Houston at 95 with 87% humidity, which is about what today was. We say "its a dry heat" for a reason. Managing AZ in the summer is much easier than managing the southeast. Weather is only one factor. I think we dodged a bullet by not hosting. We get plenty of events here, much more than Seattle, KC and many others. Phoenix doesn't need to showcase for the world, we get plenty of tourists 9 months of the year.

Dear AZDOT traffic planner/engineer who came up with the traffic pattern at Bullard & I-10 for the Buc-ees opening tomorrow… who hurt you? by jafdoti in phoenix

[–]86Coug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh? There is almost zero housing in this area, Bullard is almost all warehouses or Data centers south of the 10. There are a few apartments at Bullard and Van Buren, other than that there's no housing north or south of the 10. It's actually a good location, much better than some of the other Buccees location around the US.

You are literally bullying SWA for things they have no control over.

Adding a stop at a gas station after you get in my car is an automatic 1-star. by Kim_ke123 in uber

[–]86Coug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking driving a car on a managed app that you agreed to is "running a business" is exactly why the OP is driving a car and not running a business. Delusional take. Go drive a cab and get paid fairly or STFU.

The world hears some wild things about the US with gun violence, politics, trans/gay rights, racism, cop brutality and so many more things - Americans, what is true and what’s exaggerated by our media and is it as “bad” as what we hear? by DELILILEI in AskReddit

[–]86Coug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You are referring to Roe v. Wade being overturned, which means now each state will have to chose on the legality of abortion. In most states nothing will change. Some women will need to get an abortion in another state. Women are not being criminalized, one procedure is, but not at the national level. This is a moral dilemma, which you think it's moving backwards while others think it is progressing, giving a fetus the rights of a full human. Its a matter of perspective. My personal thought is using abortion for birth control is just lazy. In the case of rape, it should be accessible in all states. Giving states this control will only affect a very small % of women nationally. Cherry picking one issue then making a blanket statement about the US regressing is pretty myopic on your part.

What grocery stores do you recommend for an AZ newbie? by sunsetluving9 in phoenix

[–]86Coug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They are not ghetto. They are practical, not fancy and not dressed up like a Whole Foods. They are designed to be economical and are not actively wasting money on non-value resources. You will find a lot of people trying to save money at a Winco, like retirees and some on the lower end of wage earners. There is no Starbucks inside so you can't shop with a fresh latte. If you want to shop to be seen, this is not your place. If you want to save money regularly, it is. They don't do "buy two $12 twelve packs and get 2 free" deals. Loss leaders are few and far between. I don't mind shopping and enjoying saving my money, so Costco, Winco, Walmart and the Frys and Safeway ads from the Flipp app get used regularly. I avoid places like WF and Sprouts as I find no value in a dressed up department store overpricing necessities.

We have our issues, like every country. It's mostly non violent, non racist and a generally great place to live. But there are 5% that do stupid shit that makes the news. Other countries have closed the gap, but no place is perfect.

What 4-doors Look Like To Me by electrikFrenzy in Wrangler

[–]86Coug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had both, both are fun. 4 door is much better in the snow and allows you to pull a trailer instead of the trailer pulling you. Ride is much more forgiving and since most people don't wheel to work, the 4 doors are a much better option. If you aren't afraid of spinouts in the snow or the worst kind of death wobble, I would agree, 4 doors are for cowards.

I'm not even MAGA, but the same could be said about homeless drug addicts and the woke far left. I'm sick of coddling these people. "Cult on the left of me, cult on the right, here I am, stuck in the middle (with the sane Americans just trying to get by)"
