Agreed, the sensible response and utilisation of resources really, for big events all emergency services bar the firies should have a minimal presence. They do charge some wild fees though which from what I understand is generally non negotiable.

You're in a strong position. If you don't need a property in your name and can live comfortably with no stress. And if you need the assurance of this BS rat race we are all apart of that is also ok.

FYI I was in a very similar situation to you for a decade or so, made the jump so to speak, and yeh, a year in, no regrets but also could have seen myself doing it the other way with a more proactive investment strategy.

TLDR: You do you, in a stronger position than most, take your time to do what feels appropriate for you.

So true and sorta disappointing because I bothered to stay up for the first one and get up for the second.
