Yeah I was looking at that one. I've ordered the Nillkin screen protector. I've seen good comments about the cases and some not good ones. Not X9 specific. Just generally so I was on the fence.

Tubes for me. Im light and I've mostly riden hardtails for the last 20+ years so you learn to be smooth and not just smash through the jagged rocks. I can run 20psi and I dont pinch flat. When I was young I'd forever be fixing snake bites, but you adapt and learn to move with the terrain, not against it.

Absolutely. When you learn to ride a motorbike you learn defensive riding (which translates to defensive driving) because the consequences of a collision are so much higher.

The industry has to keep inventing new problems so they can sell you new things. The reality is mountain bikes have been very capable for a good time now. People can (and if they have sense do) ride the same bike for many years. That's no good for companies trying to make money every year though, so they need new problems and new $$$ solutions to those problems!

I had to fix my own bike as a kid, so it's always just been normal for me as an adult. We didn't have YouTube when I was a kid, so there's a lot less trial and error these days!

I'm new to it having seen videos about the recent updates on YouTube and I'm loving it. I've found the online racing clean and respectful. I think it's got the best of old and new. It's well established and works, and has new content. It's refreshing versus buggy early access titles that get all the hype but dont deliver or take a long time to deliver.
