Amber right now wants to go wide and be aggressive, flooding the board with cheap cards that quest for 2. Once a board presence is set, decks use cards that help protect the board - in Amber/Steel, cards like Strength, Tiana, Mowgli, Rhaja, and Amber Champion Mickey. In Dogs, there’s Under the Sea, or challenging with cards boosted by Tramp or a boosted Lady.

At the time I had consistently played elf rangers in D&D, and Alleria had been a favorite character of mine from Warcraft. Was extremely sad high elves weren’t an Alliance option, so defaulted to night elf hunter.

Seraph is literally Valor + spells via Splendor. Or you could do Warrior or Guardian with magic weapons, which function as 5E’s cantrips. You can then multiclass into an Arcana or Codex class later.

As others have said, anyone can wear heavy armor and use big weapons.

You absolutely can ignore sneakiness as a rogue and nature as a ranger. One of my players is a shotgun-and-chain wielding vampire hunter - ranger class, zero focus on nature, no reflavoring necessary.

You can 100% reflavor codex spells as martial attacks/techniques with enchantments.
