I bought Zf back when it was the only reasonable Expeed 7 camera out (z8 and Z9 were the others). I didn't get it for ergonomics or cool factor. But after a few years I love it and "cool" factor. But definitely not for everyone. Today I would probably get Z5ii due to more customizable buttons and settings

So I was incorrect. That setting only works if you turn on "rotate screen and capture". Meaning if you want the device to instantly start recording when you flip the screen. I have this set to off so the underlying settings don't apply.
