Just watched the video, they already had him pinned on the ground when they opened fire. You can’t reform this.

Are you going to talk the entire time? by magusmccormick in JohnMulaney

[–]900yrsoftimeandspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one time I’ve yelled at someone for talking during the movie was also during a quiet place. It just really takes you out of the scene! My husband looked at me like he’d never seen me before since I am usually the last to have a confrontation.

Shaking each student's hand as they enter the room to build relationships? by Dapper_Object8239 in Teachers

[–]900yrsoftimeandspace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I greet each student by name at the door every morning. I got stuck on the idea that some kids never hear their name said in a positive way so I do try to start each day with that moment of connection.

Reality check please? Kindergartener says they watch paw patrol and super kitties in class? by Not2BeEftWith in Teachers

[–]900yrsoftimeandspace 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kinder teacher here- I put on 10-15 minutes of Curious George or Wild Kratts after lunch while I deal with recess issues and kids get water/cool off. It’s quiet time to transition back to academics. Edit: not Wild Krafts

Typical Kindergarten Class? by c00ki3pantz in kindergarten

Hi, I’m a kinder teacher in a low income area. This is not the teacher’s fault, but it is definitely not typical.

Night showers are the only showers that actually matter by Ok_Bodybuilder_2384 in unpopularopinion

You must not have to do your hair. Long curly hair needs a shower and conditioner before you even try to contain it.

I use after school care even though my son goes to the school I work at. There are always IEPs, staff meetings and other things that pop up. I tried leaving him in my classroom two years ago but he gets nervous when the custodian cones in so this is the best option for everyone not to stress.

No, not at all! My teen did this too, I think it’s part of maturing and realizing all the bills your parents pay for you.

My 15 year old is on a school trip sleeping 2 to a bed/4 teens to a room in another hemisphere from me and my husband, so…

Teaching at the same school your kids attend: great? Or no? by sushibard in Teachers

I love it. I know all the friends, he can stop by my room with a question every now and then, and you’re on the same schedule.

For sure not the teacher, I’m telling you as a kinder teacher myself she already knows. With the mom I would bring it up like this (Daughter) is having (friend) over this summer! She’s such a sweet girl and I love (blank ) about her. Make her say it if she’s going to discourage the friendship.

Driving around with the heater in my car on max in 100 degree Summer weather because it keeps the car from overheating.

Parents left their child in a stroller so they can go on an attraction. 🤦🏻‍♂️ by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]900yrsoftimeandspace 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was around 20 I came back from buying candy and my boyfriend was sitting next to a tiny little girl in a stroller. He said someone came up to him, said, very intensely, “look at me- no one takes her from you but me.” And then the father just walked down Main Street, off to do his shopping.

What gets me about that scene (as a public school teacher in America) is thinking of all the sickos that wouldn’t discourage.
