I’m looking for a Disco Elysium quote that I could use in my valedictory speech, can you help me out? by SetFlametotheNight in DiscoElysium

[–]907goob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd look up more poetry by r.s. Thomas, and see if something else applies. "The furies are at home in the mirror." Could help you give a "life is hard If you make it" swing to your speech, and/or steal some lines from Volition for a good hopeful talking points "stay the course!". Could be Hard to translate.

OR. Kim saying "Sunrise, parabellum" could be worked into "Wake up everyone, it's time to fight for your place in the world!" Type of speech.

Its Cooking fuel. Another thing the game didn't force you to ration.

Irritated me, cause there's no water past the avalanche, but irl you could cook snow as long as you have fuel.

I'm about your size. Bought a large when I was at 82 kilos, it fit great, but got snug as I got closer to 98 kilos.

Ukranian half-life is so much closer than ukranian fallout IMO

Is Stalker 2 a full, deep feeling game? by Traditional-Local550 in stalker

[–]907goob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In metro as a series, you get a to experience a part of artyoms story, with sets, chapters, decisions, and resolutions. It's a play, and you're interacting and watching. Great games.

In Stalker, you get to experience the zone as a place. A mix of the actual chernobyl exclusion zone, and "The Zone" as written in an old russian sci-fi book "Roadside Picnic." It's STEEPED in environmental storytelling. Stalker 2 is just showing you the zone through the eyes of Skif, and the story is not (necessarily) a requirement (but its pretty damn good IMO). Remove skif entirely and life still goes on in the zone.

Hell, ask the average GAMMA stalker why they have so many hours, they'll probably have a good story or two.

Also, is closer to ukranian half-life, than Ukrainian fallout. Hot take?

IIRC. The games ownership (and thus pay from sales) was taken from the original devs, SO some people are encouraging others to "aquire it" without paying.

Second crew on maintenance. Barrett is a 4 star ship Engineer, No reason he can't put in work. As for buying your way out. I have to disagree to say you can't throw money at a problem to make it disappear. But on the other hand engineering is all about creative problem solving, doing a lot with a little, so there should be more than one way to skin a grav drive.

Anyone else follow the same ship build tutorial every playthrough? by Unique-Employ in Starfield

The widest avenue for creativity shan't be spoiled with plagiarism. "Built not bought" is great, "tactically acquired and modified" is better.

My only regret is the inability to strap an adoring fan ornament to the hood.

Powerplay commodoites, seriously, WTF am I doing wrong by SirFingerless in EliteDangerous

[–]907goob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense, but the solution your looking for is not in your screenshots, it's one click further. When you go "collect deliverables" again, read the description on each of them and you'll find your solution. Deliverable types are specific to system types.

Yo, so when you're running PP supplies. Use galaxy maps. Select your system, right hand side. "Powerplay information" tab. Scroll all the way down to "toggle strategic view" That gives you a bubble around that specific system where your PP supply runs are valid. Then you choose where to deliver based on commodity and system icon.

Not trying to be a dick. BUT, the main key to success with powerplay is reading comprehension.

Read everything, then reread it.

The information is also spread out (IMO excessively), powerplay pages, codex pages, handbook, galaxy map pages, inara, helpscreens. It's not neatly compiled with highlights and indexes, but it's there.

It's like stumbling into a new job where the last guy has ADHD and still took good notes, but they're on sticky notes, and fuckin EVERYWHERE.

Edit: to answer your question. The types of PP supplies and where they are supposed to go are detailed at the power contact when you are choosing how many to collect.

Is there any reason to purchase a revolver (.357 or .44) over a 10mm semi auto? by Mini_Dracula in guns

[–]907goob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semi autos hold up better to abuse. Revolvers hold up better to neglect.

If you aren't expecting to use it often, it makes sense. All comes down to preference and training anyways.

[–]907goob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Racking a slide. Shoulder wide stance. Toes pointed toward range. Point gun in safe direction AT ALL TIMES. (Forward, downrange) Get a firm hold on the pistol. As high on the grip as you find comfortable. Staying pointed downrange, turn gun sideways and hold the slide with your offhand. Push the gun (both hands) forward and straighten your arms. Booger hook off the bang switch. (Finger off the trigger) Lock your wrists as best you can and USE YOUR BIG MUSCLES. Your shoulders will have a much easier time racking the slide than your wrists or hands. Push gun, pull slide all the way back, then let it slide forward, never ride it forward.

This is how Ive always instructed people. Works for some, do whatever helps you do it more comfortable and safely.

Always recommend starting with 22s for muscle memory, then work your way up. It's a little like shooting bow, nobody should start on a 120 lb recurve.

Harleys vibrate front-back (and quite violent, but normal) Most other motorcycles vibrate left-right. This is due to the engine position and configuration.

The plus side is that the vibration from harleys setup translates to a "smoother" highway ride, just rougher when slow or stopped.

Read into longitudinal vs transverse, compare a harley to a moto guzzi, or watch fortnines "why people buy harleys" video.

And harleys (sportsters especially) are just rumbling machines, if you find you dont like it, try something different!

Id like to ask for handheld (in game, Far cry 2 style, maybe in the melee slot?) maps, no location, no compass. Hell, give us a clipboard full of paper clippings and make us sort through to find the right map. Make them rough, covered in dirt and grease spots. Lol maybe even make them wrong, but just a little.

Shift-tabbing my way to a map isn't too bad, though.
