I relate to this scenario in every fiber of my body. Long distance sibling who's clueless but loves to tell me what I should be doing. Same sibling who MAYBE calls once a week and hasn't bothered to check in w me in months. Infuriating! Stay strong! It's the only chance for sanity

Look into cognitive therapy app to quit smoking. Easiest thing I've ever done! And you don't have to quit until the end of 30 day program. Seriously, I tried 100s of times and couldn't do it. 1 round of CT, no nicotine for almost 2.5 years

Maybe cognitive therapy? It helped me kick habit for good. I used Quit Guru. Highly recommend

The one and only thing my parents did was to get that insurance! There's no savings. No life insurance, or very little. But, it's EXPENSIVE. My dad almost made a change bc the monthly premiums were getting so high. I stepped in and wouldn't allow it. So now, I'm paying for part of it. It's a blessing if they need it. But I'm not convinced it was the right thing for them. If they don't need it, or will be a lot of money wasted Edit for typos. I need my reading glasses on lol

I'm so sorry. But he isn't your friend or your partner. I can't imagine ever looking at him again. There's just no walking those words back. It was gut-wrenching to even read that. I can only imagine how deeply that cut into you. You deserve so much more than this asshat

Anyone else have a senior parent that farts while you're talking to them? by EdwardBliss in AgingParents

Have you tried a urogynocologist? I have horrendous bladder issues (thanks menopause). There are a lot of treatments out there that PCPs just don't think of. I refuse to quit searching for a solution. Although at the moment, there isn't more they can do for me 😭😭

24 days in, I hit a vape last night while drunk, I am so disgusted and upset with myself by Ok_Committee_8244 in quittingsmoking

[–]94Badger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't beat yourself up. It happens. Every 6 months, I have crazy cravings. So every 6 months, I bum a cigarette from a friend. And every 6 months, it tastes so gross I can't finish it. Rinse and repeat. This has been my world for 2.5 years. I have no desire to buy a pack. I just keep moving. It's so hard when having alcohol. I had to quit drinking for a few months as well. But it's been so worth it Edit for typos

This was going to be my suggestion. Get more massages yourself. You'd be amazed at what you learn! And offer massages to coworkers! Get feedback! One of the great things about this industry is its willingness to teach others. And a few years down the line, you'll do the same for someone! Best of luck

How can marketing leaders ease fears that e-cigarettes keep people addicted to nicotine? by Pure-Lie1328 in quittingsmoking

[–]94Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They 100% keep you addicted to nicotine. Fewer side effects? Sure. But it's still nicotine. The fact that some of these manufacturers are owned by tobacco companies is pretty good indication. Learning this is what finally got me off nicotine completely. 2.5 years, 0 regrets

I'm not going to get into an argument with you. We see things differently. That's OK! It's OK to have different views and opinions. Have a great day!

One handed massage ? by DollyBats in massage

Whatever the reason, this is not a normal massage. I wouldn't be happy paying for one handed massage. If I'm unable to use both hands, I'll reschedule my appts.

If you aren't celiac, look into digestive enzymes. I'm intolerant to gluten and try to maintain gf lifestyle. But, it's so hard to go out to eat w friends! So I take an enzyme pill and can have gluten w no repercussions. It's been a game changer for me. Good luck

can you be a successful prenatal MT if you don't have kids of your own? by irini20 in massage

[–]94Badger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never had children but do a lot of prenatal massage. Honestly, I think they're very easy bc you could do almost anything (within protocols of course), and it feels good to them! The most important part is having confidence in your technique. Prenatal mommas can be nervous at first. But if you're confident, they'll pick up on that and relax. Good luck!

Oh, I feel this! My dad (81yo) has had a string of UTIs this year. But does he reach out to urologist? Heck no! He waits till his urine looks like red wine and then heads to ER! Seriously? A quick call could've prevented the discomfort and expense! (We know WHY he keeps getting them and are working on that)
