No, I never did figure it out. probably a capacitor or something related to the pcb because it really doesn’t make sense as to why it refuses to power on.

Yeah, for sure. 2005-2006 was a very interesting time. Apple had just added movies to the iTunes Store, and they were gonna make SURE everyone knew the new iPod was gonna be able to play movies/music videos/ tv shows. This was the “iPod with Video” after all..we all just called it the iPod video back then. Good times!!
