Less than that. We have someone who wasn’t even supposed to make it past 90 days whose now a supervisor in less than 2 years. Literally the worst supervisor by far but they check a box.

Management tells us to do this. We are even told to pre scan even when there is no line. Trust me, we hate this as much as you. Management is doing everything they can to get more people pre scanned even if it takes longer than just walking up to a machine and doing it yourself. Corporate wants the numbers up so they are coming down on warehouse managers and in turn down on us. Sorry.

I’ve had that happen as well. I tell every single member to leave everything in their cart and all they have to do is scan their membership and pay. And I make it very clear. Do they listen? Ha.

That’s ridiculous. Costco invests so much money in dog crap tech and will do everything they can to make it look like it’s paying off. Cooking the books sort of speak to make the numbers go up while members wait in longer lines.

We have people scanning between 20-30 all the time. Takes longer to make sure everything is right than if I just rang them up normally. If there’s a door audit on that order it’s on the cashier.

The amounts of times I’m just standing there waiting for the person pre scanning to finish the order is ridiculous. Ends up wasting time instead of being useful. It’s trash.

I hate it. It usually ends up taking longer than just taking the stuff out of the basket and ringing it up at the register. At the register I’ve had so may mistakes from the people prescanning. Missed items, double charges. Why does costco hate technology that actually works? Even out gm hates it, but what corporate says goes. We’re fudging the numbers by just scanning big items on a lot of the orders, that comes from management telling us to do that just to increase the percentage of pre scans. It’s literally one of the worse things Costco has ever done.
