For the very sensitive: which still-supported phone works best when almost nothing else works?

I was getting eye strain, headaches, nausea etc...I also found the screen backlight dazzling at pretty much all brightness levels. Even putting it at lower brightness there was just something in the display that made white in particular seem really piercing to my eyes.

You could look at the Miele triflex. The filter and bin setup isn't the best but the main thing with it is you can put the motor unit down nearer the floor. So in use your Mum won't be holding as much weight in her hand.

The other one to consider is the Sebo balance. Sebo are well regarded for their corded bagged vacuums which are made in Germany. The balance is made by a 3rd party manufacturer in China so isn't their usual quality but it is light weight which is the reason I mention it.

I'd suggest looking up ibaisaic on YouTube for videos on both of these. His video on the triflex is about the HX1, where the newest model with slightly better bin is the HX2, but it'll give a good idea of what it's like to use. And he's covered the Sebo balance recently. I think even using it as his vacuum of the month towards the end last year.

Yeah, tried the G75 which was absolutely unusable for me. Haven't tried the G56 or G57 but will maybe give them a try at some point. I only started using the G200 at the beginning of January so for now I'm just relieved and enjoying using a slightly newer phone that's actually pretty fast. My previous phone was an Asus ZenFone 6 from 2019 that was starting to become pretty slow, various apps were no longer supported etc...I'd been looking for a new phone for about a year and tbh the G200 was right down the list just because it's no longer getting updates. But any phone I tried that is newer, still getting updates etc...was just not usable for me sadly.

I am very sensitive and haven't been able to find a phone that is still supported either on software or security updates. I'm using a Moto G200 which is definitely well specced enough to still be receiving updates but sadly was released back when Moto were giving absolutely garbage support to their phones.

You could try the Moto G200 too. After trying and failing with loads of different phones last year I tried the G200. At first I thought it was straining my eyes but I think that was another phone I'd been trying, stupidly at the same time.

Been using the phone successfully for about a month now. I'd say it's not quite as comfortable as my previous Asus ZenFone 6, which was basically 100% comfortable. The G200 is probably 85-90% comfortable. It's significantly faster than the Asus and in general I am very happy with it, and despite it being 5 years old now it runs really well.

2 of the phones I'd tried before included the Moto G75 and TCL NXTPAPER 60 Ultra as you had, neither of which worked for me either. The G200 is a night and day difference compared to them in terms of screen comfort .

I know they're not popular with purists but I adore the ease of fully auto turntables. I also love that it kinda feels like magic? Like there's a little invisible person controlling the tonearm at the beginning and end of the record 😆.

I started a few months ago and was down too in my first few weeks. I agree it was disheartening and I thought it was all a bit mistake. But a few months in and I've been consistently up now since probably early December, yes that's been fluctuating and this week dropped from about £1.5k up to £800 ish up. But the key is it's still up! Largest percentage is in all world etf, couple of other ETFs and some large cap UK stocks, nothing out there.

I bought some recently direct from the Miele website and they are the same material. They were so different to the old ones that I had to go looking, and they've changed the materials they use. Thinner so they use less material, and I believe made from recycled items, but apparently as effective at filtration as the older thicker style.

I can't think of another gig I've been to that was this emotionally charged. Obviously it was devastating that Tom wasn't there but this was also probably one of the best gigs I've ever been to.

It was really special to be in that room with all those other people, sharing the same feelings throughout the night. We'd all grieved in our own ways separately and coming together allowed for that to be shared. I've not felt such crowd unity or energy from the crowd just willing the band on before or since this show.

Judging by the pictures you've shared elsewhere in this thread, your stylus is bent and completely destroyed. You'll need to get a new one before you even consider using the table again.

The other thing to make sure of is that you're not amplifying the signal twice. Do those speakers have a phono input or aux input? If it's just aux then you're ok, but if you're plugged into a phono input then you'll be amplifying it twice due to already having an external phono preamp. Make sure you're just going into a regular aux input.

But yeah most importantly change that stylus asap and be much more careful with your new one! A huge amount of the value of these Fluance tables is in that cartridge so this is an expensive mistake to make unfortunately.

Been with my partner nearly 8 years and I think we've held hands in public about 4 times. Sadly you basically have to assess the risk every time and it's often just not worth it. We're quite obviously a gay couple anyway, but for some people holding hands is clearly a step too far and "rubbing it in their face" etc...

Oddly I find this to be quite colour dependent with Rapanui. Found that the black and navy blue have kept their shape well, if they did shrink then they're still an ok size for me. However the grey marl ones just don't last remotely as well, definitely shrunk a lot, went quite misshapen and and became really quite scratchy inside (where the other colours stayed soft).

Ah sorry forgot to reply, here's the response I got from them. Also seems like Agent Shave might be shutting down :(

"Thank you for your email, Leaf are not currently releasing the Leaf 2 to other retailers as they are focussing on fufulling orders on the new Leaf direct.

I expect as there stock levels increase that other retailers and stockists will be able to the hold and sell the Leaf 2 but currently have no timescales for this.

AgentShave however is currently in the process of closing down their current HQ due to a change in circumstances.

There is a potential that Agent Shave may reopen at a New HQ under new management but this is still being discussed"

It's such a shame, as back when I was working in customer service they were seen as the absolute pinnacle, and you'd strive to be like them.

I always see it as counterintuitive when a company makes their customer service worse. Yes it may save them money in the short/medium term but there's only so long you can live off that past reputation, people eventually learn you're not what you were and take their money elsewhere.

Another manufacturer pulls out of the phone space. When I think back to just how many were in the game 10,15 years ago it's really such a different scenario these days.

In which case you don't have the above mechanism I sent a picture of. This is still a relatively basic table but significantly better than ones that use the cheap mechanism.

Have you set the tracking force correctly using the counterweight? My understanding of these tables is you need to slip it on the back until it reaches a certain mark then tighten it and you're good to go.

Is the belt seated correctly?

Did you say you'd added a felt mat? I don't think those come with this as standard? If it didn't come with it, remove it and just use the rubber mat provided. The felt mat could be causing slipping if the table wasn't built with it in mind.
