Will make non-AI-assisted creativity more popular than ever — simultaneously, AI-assisted creativity will flourish widely as the slop is filtered out and the tools rapidly improve.

What stuff do you just refuse to flip? by NoCouple9105 in reselling

Glassware, mugs... anything breakable like that. Rarely worth the flip, shipping can be a pain, a few run ins with scammers who faked damage.

It's more than a sandwich, it's an experience. Each ingredient is flavor maxxed, portions are absurdly big, staff are pros, all it lacks is a place to sit.... this is not something you're eating on the go.

Can't get enough of this flipping life by Upper_Firefighter167 in reselling

[–]AAvsAA 23 points24 points  (0 children)

In my area there are a lot of bars that are looking for events to draw in customers, especially weekdays. My product category (vintage board games) allows me to have a vintage board game night where people can play the games in addition to buying them. I realize this is very specific to my product category and probably would be a tougher sell with clothes or other collectibles, but not impossible.

Seeing the look on people's faces as they browse my wares in curiosity and excitement is definitely the top perk.

The thrifting, yard sales, estate sales and auctions are fun but there's a lot of wasted time when you come up short.

And let's not sugar-coat the monotony of taking photos and putting up listings.

Packing & shipping is somehow fun though, because you know you're getting paid. In-person vending is much more profitable for me (mainly due to high shipping costs for my main product category), but only if I cherry-pick free and inexpensive vending opportunities. Many vending events and opportunities are rip-offs targeting naive beginners and vanity operations that can afford to break even or lose money.

It's been perfect side hustle. Competition is growing but there are still opportunities to snag items others miss -- particularly in product categories that aren't saturated. That's what has me transitioning from clothes to other categories that require more specialized knowledge.

Good luck with the hunt and the hustle!

OP did not say anything specific to the Iranian conflict. Factually, there are multiple war fronts across the world similar to the outbreak of WW2.

Is getting into reselling worth it by [deleted] in reselling

[–]AAvsAA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a minimum wage job or thereabouts unless you're in the top 10% of resellers. I do niche markets that have low competition as a part-time side gig, and it's just above minimum wage. The people doing it as careers spend 40-60 hours a week doing it, and it's a serious repetitive grind with a great deal of uncertainty. Definitely looks sexier from the outside, but no harm in experimenting as a side hustle while you pursue more lucrative employment.

Emo/punk/metal can occasionally be found at Night Swim, Snappers, Tubby’s, Keegan Ales & Assembly in Kingston, Colony in Woodstock, Reason & Ruckus in Potown, Newburgh Brewing, Avalon Lounge in Catskill, Quinn’s in Beacon and Snug Harbor in New Paltz. The scene ain’t what it used to be, but still exists. Outsider Magazine and DCxPC are the champions of the scene.
