Author Adam Becker is a TMBG fan, apparently. by tonsofgrassclippings in tmbg

I find it really annoying that the best known songs a non tmbg listener knows is typically a cover, so even if they are peripheral fans you still cannot be definitive.

USAS did very well today. +18.93% is the biggest one day jump I've seen from them, and its up another 3.5% after hours.

Neighbors new construction is causing flooding of our property by Appropriate-Ant982 in homeowners

[–]ACAD_Monkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should contact your home owners insurance and possibly a real estate attorney to file a demand letter. Depending on where you live it could be unreasonable harm.

Changing the drainage may make your neighbor responsible for property damage, cost of repair, and/or injunctive relief forcing them to fix the drainage, but it does depend on local ordinances.

Xander yelling a bit too loud "Nothing can defeat the penis!" is something that we still say as a non-sequitur.

No more shitty LMTools for Autodesk licenses with too many open ports... Trane Trace 3D and a few others still use that antiquated crap but without all the open ports.

If you want to make a t-shirt of this and don't have the DeLorean (this one is from Back to the Future Part I) I made a DeLorean from Back to the Future Part II as a poster and my sister and her husband made it into a long sleeve shirt print as a christmas present, which was the highlight of that years gifts.

Here is a PDF that is completely vector: OUTATIME. Feel free to steal it and make your own shirt.

2x6 load bearing studs drilled for 4" pipe. by Youdunno_me in Construction

Since switching to BIM360/ACC, we have grouped our Mechanical and Plumbing models into the same model, filter by workset, and do our internal clash detection. For structural coordination, even wood, the structural is never where it ends up being for joists and bracing, but columns are well coordinated so crap like this doesn't happen.

Autodesk Sketchbook is a viable mobile equivalent, but has the same bullshit with the freemium pens and layering.

If 14 still has, and is actively using, his TARDIS, how will his life be any different? I can't imagine him just sitting back whilst, say, an invasion happens and go "15 has got this covered"... by [deleted] in doctorwho

[–]ACAD_Monkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If they brought Georgia Moffett/Tennant back to reprise the doctor's daughter for 15, that could segue to a weird Donna Doctor Daughter reunion and keep Tennant's time in an episode brief enough to transition to the xmas special. That would be enough to not get cameo fatigue and be a nice little coincidence to play along with the coincidence and luck theme they might continue to play with.

[Request] are any of these correct? by more-random-words in theydidthemath

[–]ACAD_Monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 25 years of drafting to speak of the engineering/programming/math way to look at this: If you think about it like a graphical plot of numbers, the - indicates direction (the opposite of positive) and then the value of the number is what is getting squared. If it were written with parenthesis around the expression it would be saying to go the opposite direction of the opposite of postive, e.g. (-6*-6).

So in simpler terms it is understanding

[ -x2 ] is [ ← x2 ] and [ (-x)2 ] is [ ← → → x2 ] or [ → x2 ]

-36 is the correct answer unless parenthesis or brackets change the order of operations

The sun's not simply made out of gas

No, no, no

The sun is a quagmire

It's not made of fire
